He could be another Beardsley who was good alongside another forward yet would pop up all over the place.

Ben Arfa can play with his back to goal, he's more likely to go forward but he can do it. You must remember that he's hardly played here so doesn't know who runs to where. He needs games to work out who he's playing with before he can really play to his full strengths.

Nolan hasn't created a single assist in any game this season, he's set up less than both of our wingers who were giving stick to.

I really don't think he'd be disciplined enough to hold his position, he goes looking for the ball if it's not coming to him. If we were feeding him enough then it might work. It's not that I don't think it would be his best position based on his skills, it's more I don't think he'd be comfortable hanging around and waiting. I think he would be brilliant in a free roll if we were in a position to give him that and let him float around the front and drop back at times to pick up the ball to take forward. I can't wait until we have the problem of finding a position for him because he could replace most of our forwards and midfielders and fit in.

    Are you on the pull?

I've seen quite a bit of Ben Arfa and I don't think he'll stick to the wing at all, he'll pop up all over the place.

It doesn't matter where he starts, he'll just go where he wants anyway.

You'll give nothing away if you keep your eye on the ball and win it, too many players stick a foot in without knowing where the ball is. Another wicket down.

I can never understand backing off, as a defender I always wanted to win the tackle as far away from my own goal as possible. Even if the tackle fails you'll have more time for somebody to cover you.

It doesn't look anywhere near as bad as it did originally, probably a storm in a tea cup (as Madras said).

I think it was an interview with the printed press, one of them tweeted this: ยป MsiDouglas Mark Douglas @peter999919 That's what he said. Not banning it, just 'gently reminding' his players. Was laughing about it post match.
  12. That wasn't supposed to dent his bank balance and I've already explained that.
  13. Well that could have gone for a lot more footballers than Ranger through history, footballers are like everybody else. They need to be managed and nobody is saying anything other than that in this case. Where the difference in opinion comes into it is how he's managed.
  14. I agree that it's unacceptable to consistently arrive for training late, I haven't said anything else. I just find it strange that certain players have been getting away with a lot worse and this has become such a major issue.
  15. Aye but it's OK to smash somebody's face in, fair enough.
  16. Rubbish, wait until it goes against you and see how you feel, you can't have double standards.

I've read obscure shit about us in some strange places on the net, we seem fairly news worthy.

    What are they saying?
  20. I'm not sure what difference being infinitely better should make, do you agree with double standards? I agree that he should turn up to training on time and should apply himself more. How we get to that position may need a bit more thought than talking to the press.
