  1. I'm sure that it was Beardsley who scored at the Gallowgate.
  2. We got stopped coming back from Carlisle and the copper opened the shutter and couldn't believe we had so many in, he counted 54.
  3. He turned a top 5 team into one which struggled to stay in the division. That's hardly disliking him for "little or no reason." He was also a twat of a person while here so it wasn’t only our league position.
  4. 10 minutes before the end of it's last game.
  5. He was one of those players that I couldn't believe we got a fee for, another was Kevin Scott.
  6. To be fair, you would have had a much better view than I did, I couldn't see the corner of the Leazes or the East Stand Paddock from where I was.
  7. I'm 99% sure they were in the corner of the Leazes, I was in the corner of the Gallowgate that day.
  8. 1978 but who cares? The final game of the season when we staged a sit in because they were pulling it down. They eventually sent in dogs to get us to leave.
  9. I was in amongst them at Wembley when they beat Arsenal, it was boiling and I didn't have the balls to buy a drink in case they heard my accent.
  10. He'll not be in any pain during the operation which is a minor operation, getting a tooth out is worse for pain than what he's going to go through. And, I'm convinced that we'd have gone down a year earlier if he'd been kept on as manager.
  11. I can't remember who it was against but it was weird as my brother had a torch in his pocket for some daft reason.
  12. The scoreboard usually worked although I didn't spend too much time looking at it.
  13. I was also at that one. Which game did we play at home when the flood lights went out? Was it Man City?
  14. Macdonald would have done a brilliant job here, I bet he'd have done something along the lines of what Keegan did, maybe not as much but he would have given the club a massive lift. Did he get sacked for shagging some lass at the club?
  15. The wettest I've ever been at a match was at home to Wrexham, it rained so much the game was abandoned and I'm sure it would have been our lowest league attendance ever if it was finished.
  16. Macdonald had Fulham playing some brilliant football.
  17. Something like that happened at Leicester except it was turned over on the terraces next to the dividing fence.
  18. I couldn't stand him, he came here with a big reputation and he was a tart, I couldn't stand the way he'd grab players instead of tackling them.
  19. Yes, he looked a bit like Waddle but wasn't very good most of the time.
  20. It was still shit, a bit like him really.
  21. Memories are flooding back, I remember a fire to the right of where we were standing as we were in the middle of our end.
  22. I was at the 0-5 Barnsley game, I made friends with some lads from Barnsley and one came in our end for the game. He became a big Newcastle fan after that and followed us all over the country.
  23. The smiley tells its own story.
