  1. I can't remember who my first away game was against, probably the mackems at Joker.
  2. He did no more than Richard Dinnis when he qualified for Europe, did that make him any better than he was?
  3. Boumsong was at Rangers for half a season, during that time he faced nobody of any note and looked clueless any time he was put under pressure, I wouldn't really hold up a few games in a second rate league as a reason to think he's any good. How many players come here for Scotland as the next big thing only to fail? Rangers sold Barry Ferguson to Blackburn and he was shite here, in Scotland he was a hero. The fact that Boumsong played 2nd division football in Italy means what? As for now, he's playing back in France, he's played a hand full of games for Lyon. Nice selection of seasons for Owen, he averaged 30 games a season for Liverpool over 7 years so I would guess that he actually played less than 70% of the total number of games they played when you add cup games. I can't understand how anybody can try to argue that he wasn't injury prone, you've selected 2 seasons at Liverpool and in those two seasons he played 92 games out of his total of 216. Most of his games at Madrid came from the bench, he hardly ever started and that's one of the reasons he wanted away. I agree the cost per goal is hindsight, I don't see anything wrong with hindsight. As for links to posts, the current forum doesn't go that far back.
  4. Defend Souness all you want, you did think he was a good manager so that's no surprise.
  5. Roeder did have a history of finishing 7th in his first year, pity it was usually followed by relegation.
  6. How's Ramage doing in his return to fitness?
  7. That's convenient, I thought the holes were so numerous it would not have taken long to respond.
  8. Like everybody else, I know who he was signed to replace, he was just nowhere near good enough and didn't replace Woodgate. It's just typical of you to try to make something out of nothing.
  9. Roeder was true to form, a total failure as manager and I can't understand why anybody would think that he would do a good job for us but I can understand why you defend the decision.
  10. Boumsong wasn't class at Rangers and I was unfortunate enough to see a bit of him while living in Scotland as Rangers and Celtic were given something like 90% of the football coverage. Boumsong just made me laugh when he pissed about with the ball and seemed to take twice as long as anybody else to realise what was happening, he looked OK against pub teams who would struggle in our third division, nowt flash. If he "just just didn't work out in this league," how's he getting on now? Paying £17 million for an injury prone Owen was crazy, and no I didn't know he would get the two serious injuries that he's had since joining us, I expected two or three pulled hamstrings a year and thought our money could have been spent to improve the team more than it did, Anelka would have been my choice. Owen has cost something like £2 million a goal averaged over the best part of 3 seasons now, he's good when fit but the same use as any other player when injured, no use at all.
  11. I haven't been right about everything at all, I guess you must be wrong more than most seeing as how ofter you use hindsight as a response to posts, I was right about Souness, Roeder, Boumsong and Owen, plenty of other were also right so it's no big deal. What was your thoughts when they came to the club?
  12. Most people knew he was out of his depth, I can think of very few who thought the appointment was a good one.
  13. And that comes from the person who probably has 95% of his posts either in threads about the board or threads which are randomly hijacked into becoming threads about the board. the title of this thread is about who exactly ? Its not about the tea lady I didn't mention this thread in particular, I mentioned your posts in general, I've left the posts so you can try again.
  14. It wasn't just Wullie who didn't get carried away although he may have had the most to say on the subject.

    Martins

Martins returns to the starting line-up against Birmingham and our fortunes change, coincidence? I think not.

  17. Proof? http://img212.imageshack.us/img212/2391/vlcsnap212275lw9.png I'd love to know why he keeps his back to the camera, it's suspicious at least.
  18. They'll not let the selling club know how much we've got to spend, that would be madeness.

    O'Brien

It was sang at least three times in the Leazes.
  20. Between £40 million and £60 million if Keegan wants to spend it. I wouldn't be surprised to see our current record transfer beaten 2 or 3 times in the summer if we can tempt good enough players to the club.
  21. I'm not sure that it is the same, I'm not even sure that Mort would be against those type of signings. I'm fairly sure he'd be over the moon if we could repeat them at the cost we paid for them. Even Sir John didn't want Beardsley but Keegan lied to him if the reports are true.
