Poyet is available now... oh goody, that's all right then. This whole situation is indicative of the paralysis at the heart of the club. I'm tempted to think Ashley bought the club as a property development play, maybe with the super casino behind it. That would explain why Llambias was brought in given his background in casinos (although not sure of the chronology of when the super casino bid was rejected). When property etc fell through Ashley's lost interest as he's not really interested in the football club as such. It's easy to be cynical, mind.

The reason JFK's with us at all is because no other bugger would touch the job, not even El Tel for a truckload of cash. I fear if JFK is shown the door that only leaves Dave Bassett that Dennis Wise can personally recommend. In which case we've had it.
  3. I reckon Owen will delay and spin out contract talks until the summer, just like he did at Liverpool before he went. And he'll be off if he can get a club that matches his ambition and wage demands. I'm very cynical about whether we'll offer him anything like the wages he's been used to, he'll keep all his options open whilst trying not to piss off the fans. I can't see him staying with us tbh.
  4. What's the point in talking about what Shepherd would have done with the club if Ashley hadn't bought the club? Unfortunately he did.
  5. It's like a think tank is this. Too many good ideas to choose from
  6. Or how about * We're Gannu Win The League Now Man * Not In The Know * Home of the Premier League's Fifth Best Club On Average
  7. My suggestions for a tag line: * It's cheaper than therapy * Because it's all about opinions * Log on, talk shite * Banning a distinct possibility * When you've nothing better to do PM me for my choice of T-shirt, cheers
  8. Only if that represents 8m the club would have spent otherwise. I'm afraid I'm cynical whether the club will invest as much as it can afford. I think they will spend the minimum amount possible, based on history to date.
  9. Like Cacapa, Faye, Geremi? Weren't they big Sam's signings? Presumably under Ashley? Don't agree with the OP btw, I don't think it was clear at all. iirc that was stated as part of Wise's brief though when he was recruited (possibly by Keegan?)
  10. Nor would you wish to take it lying down the key word being "APPARENTLY" on the run up to it i'd heard "APPARENTLY keegan had no say in transfers" also "APPARENTLY keegan was in a power game with wise and didn't want anyone whom wise reccomended and wanted unrealistic signings" (weeks before the NOTW broke a similar story) What's your problem? Don't understand the conditional tense or something? Take your capital letters elsewhere, you patronising oaf you i am the scales of justice....you are a weight. More like this thread is a knob and you are the jockey if that is a proposition.....no thanks. FMP to avoid any misunderstanding
  11. Absolutely. But I fear Keegan being stubborn is unlikely to compromise. Not without a public apology anyway.

  15. Wasn't the chanting about his resemblance to Richard Reid the shoebomber? Was Islam specifically mentioned (haven't seen what the chant consisted of)?
  16. The timing suggests that Keegan was waiting to see if the club was sold - new owner, no law suit. As Ashley is still in charge and looking likely to be for some time, KK has decided to go through with it - I am guessing that KK definitly wants to get back at Ashley. I stress the word "suggests" as I am simply guessing like everyone else It's possibly taken the lawyers 3 months to prepare the case. Lawsuits seem to move slowly and expensively
  17. Wey either way he gets work Sky will want his as pundit for Sunday now so they can quiz him. Could you imagine him on Sky? Skilling: "So what do you think of Chelsea's chances against Arsenal at home, Roy?" Keane: "They're all losers, fakes, the lot of 'em. No commitment." Skilling: "So you don't rate Chelsea then Roy?" Keane: "c***s. Them and Arsenal. No focus. They don't put the effort in. No courage." Skilling: "Errr, so what does Big Phil do to contain Arsenal going forward?" Keane: "That's it I've had enough of your questions. I'm off to walk me dog." I meant Sam? That's a shame
  18. "Thoughts on the late fracas Roy?" "GIRLS" "Who's going to win the league Roy?" "ARSE"
  19. And now over to Roy Keane in the Sky Sports studio http://www.channel4.com/entertainment/tv/microsites/F/father_ted/pf/images/pictures/1.jpg

  21. Agreed. People's views on this will be coloured by whether they think he was forced out or "bottled" it. Personally I believe he was misled from the outset re transfers and his position was made untenable. I think he has every right to sue the club in that case and I don't think any the less of him for it, I would do exactly the same in his shoes. He is not stealing from the fans' pocket - Ashley owns the club not us - and this should not affect transfer funds one jot (I'm cynical over whether any money will be spent one way or another anyway). I wish it wasn't happening but the responsibility lies with Ashley imo. if the case is found against keegan then the responsibility was with keegan. also any monies leaving the club could well affect any future transfer expenditure. If the court decides against keegan then I'd reconsider. If his contract is paid up then he shouldn't have been constructively dismissed and he's entitled to it. In those circumstances the blame lies with Ashley and his minions not Keegan, and we'd have been better off getting 3 years of service out of him rather than forcing him out. so instead of your posts being very pro-keegan shouldn't you be saying "wait till we see what comes out in court" Not really. I believe Keegan's in the right here.

Edit: nobody will take a wage cut to fund transfers btw, don't see how this is much different.
