  1. Man City just have to beat Villa and they have won the league right?
  2. At some point, City will get a grip on this game. If they equalise, they will win.
  3. Mark Noble is pretty much the standard bearer for average footballers. He's getting a send off like he was some great player. Imagine if we did that for Paul Dummett. Oh well, all aboard the Talksport conveyor belt of average players with shite opinions.
  4. Personally I think the standard of Arsenal, Spurs and Man Utd in the top 4 race has been appalling. No side has showed any consistency. Arsenal are very capable of a stinker. I've been saying for days that we will win this. I don't rate this Arsenal side much at all, outside of Saka and Odegard.
  5. That can't be right? Are you saying pens have never decided an FA cup final? Mad if true
  6. This is weird. I want Chelsea to win but why?
  7. Pulisic is the best shite player I've ever seen.
  8. Have I missed something here? I'm sure whatever the joke is, it's incredibly funny.
  9. No that why i asked? Did he make a claim on the Digne front?
  10. Remind me? I can't recall that.
  11. TBF Keith Downie has a policy of only making statements about potential signings if he has the story stood up from more than one source. For him to mention Lodi, suggests there is at least some evidence that we are in for him. It's different on deadline day, as SSN just turns into a circus but otherwise Keith is decent.
  12. Kind of disrespectful of Wor Flags mind. I mean a star? You know what a star has right? Points. You know what else has points? A sword. If that isn't a nod towards Saudi beheadings, I don't know what is. I don't even get me started on painting the grass Saudi Green. Sportswashing gone mad.
  13. Great shout. An absolute unbelievable player. What a generation that was. Would be the best player in the world right now but back then there was Zidane etc.
  14. Eidur Gudjohnsen. Brilliant player, similar in style to Bergkamp but probably gets lost amongst the millions Chelsea ended up spending. Was crucial in Mourinhos first season.
  15. Solano. Incredibly underrated outside of Newcastle.
  16. What he actually says is that he needs to make sure there is the correct balance. I agree that it seems unlikely that he will bring in a 35 year old keeper AND a 29 year old defender though but we don't know what the club has planned in other areas.
  17. It's the context, which I think is being missed. Is Schmeichel an exciting signing for the next 10 years? No, is he better than Dubravka? Yes. Is Tarkowski as good as Botman etc, no. Could he be a valuable squad player to serve as 3rd/4th choice? Yes. Calvert Lewin would have cost 50m 18 months ago. His injuries are a concern but he was absolutely class, not so long ago and if he can prove his fitness would be a great addition. Also, these lads play for Everton, Leicester and Burnley (their captain), when was the last time we started taking players from rival clubs?
  18. Schmeichel is shite now? Honestly winds me up the shit people talk. Schmeichel would transform our distribution from the back and he's an absolute boss of a leader. Leicester have had a shite season and conceded loads of goals but that might have been due to their chronic injuries at the back rather than their goalkeeper. What if, and I know this is crazy, the club see Schmeichel as a great option for a couple of years before we find the next Allison/Ederson. I know my scouting isn't the greatest but last time I checked world class progressive goalkeepers don't grow on trees.
  19. So in a scenario when we have 2 centre backs injured, which is hardly unheard of and in fact quite likely at some point of the season, you would rather find a kid from the U23s come into our first team? Unless you are suggesting we sign 2 quality centre backs, which are going to set us back the best part of 60m quid? I'd like to see how you would structure the defensive side of our squad, whilst also having enough money in reserve to buy attacking players, which should be the priority.
  20. Yep, his fitness is the only question. Even then, you have to take risks from time to time.
  21. Why is everything always so fucking binary. Tarkowski is either good or shit, right? No, he's a solid centre back, who's not great on the ball but pretty decent off the ball. He's also a leader and a good character, in keeping with the sort of people we have already signed. He's better than Clark, Fernandez and Lascelles. He's comparable in standard to Burn (who people also criticised when we signed him). Also, anyone saying "he's been crap for Burnley this year", is kinda missing the point. I dare say you could stick Baresi in the Burnley back four and you would see the odd wrinkle. Here's the key, he's on a free transfer and while signing players for nowt shouldn't be our strategy, it's certainly a huge plus point in this case. Signing Tarkowski on a bosman would minimum add a decent 4th choice to our squad, but also has the potential to unlock other avenues because it may allow us to sell Lascelles. The caveat to all this, is that signing Tarkowski on a free should be an extra, not an alternative to signing a top quality progressive CB. The only other thing I would add, is that any potential signing should be viewed through the prism of a full pre season of Eddie Howes coaching, which I would bet will get an extra 10% out of anyone.
  22. I will give up my football club when everyone else has given up their Saudi shit. Until then, shut the fuck up, I'm watching the match.
