I think I've said from the start that I dont dislike Bruce, the person. Hes taken a job he cant refuse and seems a pretty decent bloke. He's just not a very good manager and more importantly, hes worse than Rafa. That's the issue here, hes worse than Rafa and its typical of this club to downgrade is quality/ambition/expectations. I will give Bruce credit for a couple of things. His team selections have been decent and he's a decent motivator. The tactics are entirely Rafa's. We are set up in exactly the same way and getting similar results. When he tried to fiddle with it, he proved to be incapable.

The attitude of the players has been excellent since Rafa joined. It's clear the club has done well with recruiting the right people, in terms of professionalism, since our last relegation. Almiron and ASM, regardless of their faults, have worked tirelessly since they have joined. Even Joelinton, who I dont rate, is at least putting a shift in.

To be fair, it's the smart thing to do, easing Schar and Lejeune back in. At some point we will need to change things up and they are our best centre backs to bring in. No point in rushing them back for no reason. Couple more games and they will be back.

You can actually be proud about some of the best football played in this league, whilst also being jealous that we didnt get to win the league like Blackburn or Leicester more recently. You dont have to make some daft hypothetical choice. Personally, I like to own our history, its had plenty of highs and plenty of lows and we wait until the day we win something, you will see the biggest party in Europe in our city. Just on another note, for about 20 years you could go anywhere in the world and see a toon shirt or speak to a native who knew exactly who Newcastle were. I'd bet Blackburn was only famous briefly around the world.
