Emery Rafa Gerrard I think any of these 3 would keep us up.
-
Well OK then, I'm not worried at all, I just think there's a solid chance they are wrong. I will happily admit I don't know alot about him but I suspect alot of others don't too. His track record is very average. Convince me I'm wrong?
-
Honestly, DCL goes to fashion shows and that. He looks a right turnip.
-
I really worry that some are excited about Fonseca, based on very little. Both Caulkin and Hope are adamant it isn't Fonseca anyway.
-
Rafa would do so much more than simply coach the team. He would sort out the club. Still not a cat in hells chance.
-
Spot on. His Everton record wasn't terrible, they finished 5th under him, let's not forget.
-
While we are on Martinez, the over reaction to that possibility completely outweighs reality. Martinez wouldn't be my preferred choice, largely because I don't like him but to suggest he is an outright worse candidate to Favre/Fonseca is naive. His record is arguably better than theirs. Don't fall into the romantics of an untested manager from aboard because that could go either way too. I remember a clamour for Remi Garde.

He literally said he was looking forward to being at Everton when they have their new stadium. He said that last week. Surely nobody in their right mind thinks Rafa will break his contract and Everton are certainly not going to sack him any time soon. 2 months time if the fans are on his back and it might be a possibility but not now.

I'm like a kid at Christmas, except I haven't a clue when Christmas is or what presents I'm getting.
-
No, provided you wake up now and then. Otherwise it's just a coma.
-
Why? We aren't even batting on the same pitch as them right now. Let the top 4/6 crack on and slit each others throats whilst we get our house in order. When the time comes we can pounce but right now that's 3 seasons away, minimum.

Brighton are in great form and we look shite but don't rule us out completely. Football is funny sometimes. We kept out Chelsea for a long time and they are much better than Brighton. The issue is whether we can actually learn to keep the ball better than my u9s. You can't defend for 90 minutes, we need to at least show something on the counter. Also ASM doesn't go a long time out of form and Wilson doesn't go long without scoring. I'll be Mr Positive and say 1-2.

Personally,I think you are sound. PM please.
-
BTW, it's nice to see things really calmed down in here since I went out to graft this morning. You guys are mental. wouldn't swap you for the world.

I was told that AVB was also interviewed. Which makes entire sense given that he's very similar to the other candidates mentioned and is also out of work. I suspect there was/is half a dozen who have been in talks.

Amongst the bullshit and cryarsing, sometimes there is a chink of light on this forum.

Any wife who isn't willing to leave in the North East for a couple of days a week for 5 years whilst earning a gazillion quid a year wants a divorced pronto. I also think it's absolute bollocks BTW. The reason players/managers edge towards London is because Arsenal, Spurs and even West Ham haven't been ambitionless voids for the last 15 years. Funny how Manchester is manageable. Perhaps when we do lure a star like Wijnaldum, we match their ambitions on the pitch. Or perhaps when we do convince Modric to look around the training ground, it's not a dilapidated mess and we don't tell his agent he is too small to play in the PL. It's those things that make us unattractive, it's nowt to do with the North East weather.
-
It's clear now, why they weren't in a rush to bin Bruce. They knew they wouldn't have anyone in anyway. They probably knew that sacking Bruce would have little impact on the pitch, so long as his coaching team was still here.
-
Yep. People screaming that we need someone in for Brighton, as if a manager can make such an impact in a few days. An international break was always going to be key to any appointment.
-
Aye, kicked it out several times. We always had a full back available to play out from the back but no, more defending please.
-
Jones wants binning simply for telling Darlow to hoof it.
-
Not everyone and few sensible people.
-
Villa are in big trouble IMO. Grealish was making them look good.

Let's say it's John Terry, or even Wayne fucking Rooney, in a worst case scenario (I hope ), I will still pledge to get behind them. It's not because I rate them, or because I think they would be a good choice even in the medium term, but because if by me and other fans getting behind them we get an extra 5% out of the team and somehow stay up, it will be a great thing. Once we have got through this season, we can see where we are, see what recruitment is needed and see whether the decision they made was the right one. This isn't MAs NUFC anymore, they aren't going to stick by some clown while we sink into the abyss. We also have to accept the potential for mistakes. That doesn't mean they shouldn't take criticism, just that it needs a caveat beside it. They want what's best for us, I believe, that's enough for me... for now.
