He has an agreement saying he can talk to big clubs if they come in for him dont know if that is spurs though? I can just imagine reading that contract. Additional Clauses: Can talk to big clubs. It is true though i would guess it just means champions league clubs I think the same as you to be honest.
-
A Dutch site says that he had 1 year left on his contract so, if true, a good deal for both clubs.
-
Mirror, Mail and London Evening Standard all saying Spurs are now after Lassana Diarra for £10m. Dont think 'Arry would sell in any case.

Bargain. Very good player. Quite a few big names moving to the Bundesliga this summer (Barzagli & Zaccardo etc) Very true, another quality player off to Germany. With the Bundesliga being the most profitable league in the last figures published, maybe the clubs are using their share of the profits to improve the overall quality of the league?

KD's forum is saying Eto'o to Spurs with Berbatov going in the opposite direction with Puma (Eto'o's personal sponsor and Spurs' shirt sponsor) agreeing to make up the shortfall between what Eto'o wants and what Spurs will pay. Just sharing what's being said.

Flying over tomorrow apparently. Also did an interview for Azteca TV .................. http://www.yucatan.com.mx/noticia.asp?cx=10$0405060000$3835360&f=20080604 Google translation: Giovani is Tottenham, said the player 11:12 p.m. Drafting Multimedia In an interview broadcast on Television Azteca rest of the match tonight in San Diego, between Mexico and Argentina, the Mexican striker Giovani dos Santos announced that it will play next season with Tottenham of the English league. Although it had several offers, the team's English was attractive, plus who knows the technical eleven London Juande Ramos, according to the player said in an interview taped in advance. The transfer to Tottenham Giovani had already been given as moored for some days, although it said the English club wanted to make sure that the Mexican was good of the operation in the left ankle which he practiced after completing his latest commitment to the Barcelona Spanish. His father apparently also confirmed his brother Jonathon would be joining him at Spurs. When the deal is announced, it's widely expected that there will be at least one other player announced at the same time. And the much-touted medical, Mr. Jol? I've never spoken about GDS's medical. Dunne was booked for a medical on Friday but he fell by the wayside before then. Richard Dunne was with me on Friday and said the last thing he'd ever do was go to Spurs. Seriously man, you're a f***ing embarrassment to yourself. Have you ever had one bit of ITK knowledge which you've posted on here which hasn't had a backdoor getout policy attached to it? I heard that Newcastle might be signing a £90m player tomorrow, but there's every chance that it might not actually happen. There's talk of a press conference, which may or may not happen. You know as well as I do that it was well documented that Dunne was believed to be on his way to Newcastle, then to Spurs, then Pompey and the latest now suggests he will stay at Man City with Hughes. I post here what I've been told and it was right at the time irrespective of what happens subsequently. I was told that there was agreement to sign Dunne and a medical was booked. Whether that agreement was from the player himself or his agent I don't know, I was simply told there was agreement. Out of curiosity, if you were with Richard Dunne on Friday and you knew he wouldn't be moving to Spurs, I would have thought you would be eager to share the news here, especially as it would have been a put down on Spurs. But you didn't say anything at all, neither in this thread nor the Richard Dunne to Newcastle, no Portsmouth thread either. Was there any particular reason why you decided not to share until the following Thursday when the whole world knew? Just curious like.

Very true. Even more likely is that he sign up some 19 year old from some obscure African nation and convert him into Uefa Player of the Year inside 3 years. Can't help but admire the way Wenger talks up his players until some Italian starts to believe it and lashes out big money to sign him.

(Daily Mirror) Real have again suggested they are ready to abandon their attempts to sign him as the Red Devils do not want to sell him. (Sun) Villa have targeted keeper Blackburn keeper Brad Friedel with the Ewood Park outfit bracing itself for key players leaving after Mark Hughes' exit. (Daily Mail) Sunderland boss Roy Keane is set to add seven more players to the eight he has already axed to help a £50m spenduing spree. (The Daily Mirror) Leeds, Brighton and Ipswich are trying to sign Gretna midfielder Abdul Osman. (Sun) Leeds have also put West Brom's Kevin Phillips top of their transfer list and will have to fight it out with QPR and Stoke for the veteran striker. (The Daily Star) OTHER GOSSIP Mark Hughes will have a £40m or £50m transfer kitty - depending on who you believe - at his disposal after taking over as Manchester City boss. Article on the Spurs OS ............... As the media embargo, originally requested to secure privacy for Paul, has now been lifted, the Club would like to provide our supporters with an update on the position regarding our former midfield great Paul Gascoigne. Gazza, one of English football's favourite sons, was yesterday sectioned under the Mental Health Act and will receive treatment for an enforced period of six months. The gravity of his problems came to light in February when he was first sectioned and Gary Mabbutt, the Club, the Professional Footballers' Association and the Football Association, along with other footballing friends and family of the 42-year-old privately came together with the aim of providing the former England international with the medical care he required. There remains the need for enforced and prolonged treatment, which Gary feels Gazza will now receive. "Since Paul was first sectioned in February a number of people came together quietly - the Club, both directly and through the Tottenham Tribute Trust, the FA, the PFA - to provide support both practical and financial - and to work, along with his friends and family, with his specialists to get the best treatment for him," said Gary, captain during Gazza's three-year spell at the Lane from 1988-91. "We were able to get treatment for Paul at the Priory and other clinics, but the problem was that when he was sober he would discharge himself only to relapse again. "He was on the road to self-destruction so, after making every effort to protect his privacy, it was decided that we must enter the public domain in order to put some pressure through the media on the powers that be to have him sectioned. "The Club has been kept very much up to date with everything and I have liaised with them on a daily basis. It has been a case of us all striving to help Paul through this difficult period of time." Gary stressed that a dependence on alcohol is one of a number, but not the root cause, of Gazza's problems. "I must make it clear that Paul is not just an alcoholic, that is not the situation. Some articles have portrayed this as simply an addiction to alcohol, but that is a symptom rather than a cause and there are far more serious problems that have to be addressed. He suffers from several disorders, including manic depression, that add to a pretty nasty cocktail of things going on in his head. "Unfortunately, until they cure the first problem, they can't cure the second, third and fourth problem. http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/articles/paulgascoigne.html The Spurs Tribute Trust is a charity set up and funded by the club to help former players who have fallen on hard times due to medical problems and need support, financial or otherwise. The usual beneficiaries are old time players who need hip operations and that sort of thing, but Gazza obviously ticks all the boxes for the help he so much needs. Can only hope that he can be nursed back to good health but he will be getting the best treatment available, not just what's available on the NHS.

Paul Kemsley still harbours hopes of being involved in buying Spurs, I very much doubt he would wish to have any involvement in NUFC. You don't wrap your best mate around your finger either, billionaire or not. He may not have the individual clout of Ashley but probably has better friends. Rock is a $1bn+ company in the US he has with Joe Lewis, building casinos in Las Vegas, has other companies with Daniel Levy and he's in the throes of buying Carnaby Street and much of the surrounding area from Paul Raymond's Executors for £800m. Not exactly small fry. An old article and he has got bigger since but still gives an insight........... http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/industry_sectors/media/article745385.ece

Absolutely true! ..................... he said praying!!

I think a good argument could be made for any of the big 4 signing him. The prospect of watching Villa and Torres playing together would be awesome but there's no harmony in the scousers camp right now. I think Villa and Berbatov would make a top quality pairing. The only problem there is if it happened I wouldn't expect them to be wearing Spurs shirts

Nice. Have him over Keegan any day myself. Doesn't change the fact that he is a c*** though. Complete hypocracy for him to berate Madrid for trying to get Ronaldo when he/Man Utd has done that so many times. Hargreaves from Bayern being the latest case (before Bayern finally agreed to sell him). Same old, same old Fergie, rules and principles that he wants other clubs to adhere to apparently do not apply to Man Utd. Top coach but still a c*** of the highest order. To right Put simply, if Madrid were to ask FIFA to turn the same spotlight on Fergie it would open up a can of worms big enough for Bob Nudd to empty every river in the land of its pike population. The only question to be asked about Ferguson and tapping-up is where do you begin? Let's stick with the last decade and start with the most publicised example: Jaap Stam detailing in his autobiography the precise methods employed by Fergie in 1998 to tap him up when he was still at PSV Eindhoven. Ferguson wasn't investigated but Stam was shipped out, according to the Dutchman, for spilling the beans. Remember in 2003 when United tried to sign Ronaldinho from Paris St Germain? Here's what their president Francis Graille said: "Manchester have not played the game in line with FIFA regulations. "They have negotiated directly with the player. Even if they have got agreement from the player, they haven't got agreement from his club." In the January of that year Sunderland chairman Bob Murray described Fergie's approaches to David Bellion as "shabby, despicable, disrespectful, arrogant and unprofessional". And the previous summer United were accused of tapping-up Rennes full-back Julien Escude, after the France Under-21 international player claimed Ferguson had spoken to him on his mobile phone. Ask Leeds and Everton about the behind-the-scenes connivance with Rio Ferdinand's and Wayne Rooney's agents before they moved to Old Trafford. Ask Fulham's Mohammed Al Fayed why he raged about Fergie "constantly unsettling my players" as he pursued Luis Saha. Ask Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge why he said in 2006: "We have told Manchester United that they should stop trying to tempt Owen Hargreaves. If they don't, then we will have to turn to FIFA." But best of all, ask PSV Eindhoven's chairman Harry van Raaij about Fergie's behaviour in courting Ruud van Nistelrooy in 2000. Specifically his quote "he has crossed the line of decency". Then ask him why, in 2004, when Arjen Robben was given the red-carpet treatment at United's training ground while still a PSV player, van Raaij flew into a rage and said: "It is Ferguson's way of doing business. A leopard never changes his spots." I could go on but you get the picture. Before Ferguson conjures up images of the Madrid dictator Franco he should look hard into his mirror. For him to question the morals of another club when it comes exerting psychological pressure on a player he's set his sights on, is laughable. To think a FIFA inquiry into deals which haven't gone strictly by the book would put another club in a worse light than his own, is dangerously deluded. It must be down to the ease with which he has run rings around the petrified English authorities (as currently exemplified by the FA appealing against themselves for bizarrely letting Fergie and his assistant Carlos Queiroz off an improper conduct charge after attacking referee Martin Atkinson and his boss Keith Hackett). Fergie knows better than anyone that one of the major reasons for his phenomenal success has been an ability to tie up deals with some of the world's best players. Deals which, for every club in the world, often mean stretching the rule-book to the limits. Hypocrisy, eh? Bloody hell. "Fergie knows better than anyone that one of the reasons for his success has been an ability to tie up deals with some of the world's best players" You could add to that the Man Utd shirt with Carrick's name on it that Neville presented to him in Germany during the World Cup, shipped over specially by Ferguson. A truly great manager, yes, but he's no angel. Fergie knows every dirty trick in the book and will use every one to get what he wants.

Valencia have put David Villa up for sale at £17m. Ramos' dream of signing him and cashing in on Berbatov lives on. The reality is that it will never happen (imho). The scramble for his signature should be good to watch though!

The itk guy says it 3 players to be done by the end of the week. Dos santos is near enough certain to be one, the guy says the other guy either plays for portugal or plays in portugal, and the 3rd is probably Bostock but people still havnt clocked on yet. There are a number of options bubbling away. Bostock has already had an official announcement of sorts so I would discount him as one of the 3 if there are going to be simultaneous announcements for 3 players. If there are 3 deals coming to fruition they could be announced on Friday as at the weekend Levy and Alexander (the Company Secretary) depart for annual vacations. BTW, I've got considerable doubts that Veloso will be one of the three, if indeed there are three. When those two go on holiday, will business lull for a few weeks? It normally goes dead, yeah. Levy always takes his annual trip to Florida in the transfer window, he does it every bloody time! The talk about Spurs' triple signing announcement seems to have legs. Dos Santos will be announced at the same time as a defender (probably Coloccini) and a GK (probably McGregor). The ITK's seem to be in agreement that the announcement should be on Friday, possibly Thursday.

Shame for the fans. Better to watch a low level team than to have no team at all. As a kid, my Scottish teams were Celtic and Third Lanark .........................

Veloso would be just about the worst sort of defensive midfielder you could possibly sign so it would probably be a good thing if you didn't for your sake of course. You need a real destroyer sort for that midfield but oddly enough it doesn't seem you have been linked with too many. Your midfield is still too soft in my opinion. Zokora and Huddlestone are just not effective enough as DMs in a 4-4-2. Totally agree. I think Zokora will stay as a squad player, Ramos likes his work ethic, but Hudd should be offering a lot more than he does, a lot slimmer but still not mobile. I think he will be moved on. The only name I've regularly heard is Makoun but he's by no means certain to move to WHL. As you say, for the need for a strong DM, Spurs haven't really been linked with too many. Apart from the DM, we still need a GK (McGregor/Hennessey/Hart/Emiliano Viviano), CB (Coloccini and a couple of others), LM (Diego Capel still the favourite) and RM (Bentley) if Ramos finally gives up waiting for a final ball from Lennon.
