Man Utd look fairly easy to defend against today. I know they've dicked a fair few teams but City are making it look easy. There's no creativity in the centre of the park for them and it's basically get it wide and try and work the opening for a cross, which is difficult as City's wide players are tracking back well. Cleverley is being missed I think, he could pick a pass as opposed to just spreading the play or aimlessly dinking it into the box like Fletcher

Agreed, central midfield & central defence in particular are areas where our backup is nowhere near the ability of the starters. Need Williamson fit sooner rather than later for starters. Obviously losing Cabaye and/or Tiote will be a huge problem, nothing convincing about Gosling's ability or fitness so far and Guthrie, whilst tidy, isn't even half the player Cabaye is. Having said that it's not like you can except to have superstars playing backup, so having young players like Gosling & Abeid as back up in there is quite smart. Just not Smith, ever.

Gosling & Guthrie in centre midfield, Ferguson & Santon as full backs and whichever two centre halves he fancies from the two actual footballers and Perch. Probably Elliot in goal.
