  1. just got to laugh. All clubs today need to spend big time to win. The only difference is whether the money is sustainable or not. ManUs probably is whilst Chalseas is not. We have all seen (and laughed) at Leeds misfortune when they systematically overspent. TBH I would love to see a more level playingfield, like when Forest (RIP) and even everton were flying high. With the new windfalls, some clubs will spend recklessly, while others will take their time and spend on the right players - just hope that we do not go down the panic buying line of our last two managers.
  2. He is one of those sad individuals that cannot take responsibility for his own inadequacies. I just loved it when he left!! He, however, does make a couple of fairly valid points. Firstly the team does need to be rebuilt, and have a fair amount of money spent on it. This is mainly HIS doing as he ripped the heart and soul from our club, getting rid of our better players and buying in absolute pap. He also appears to have a dig at shepard, quite rightly in my opinion for interferring in the transfer market. This is clearly still continuing as we appear to be after many of the same targets as under roeder. Lets hope that the evaluation of the club gets rid of the dead wood at the top.
  3. Just cannot make my mind up about Bellemy, yes he is fast, yes he is an irritant. I was surprised that he didnt start the CLF for Liverpool (so perhaps I do rate him), so think that he has no future there at all. This makes me think that the way managers deal with problems is crucial to success. Liverpool will recoup their money, whilst we sold himk for a song. I cannot see him coming if owen leaves, as his pace would only help owen.
  4. Taking players directly from S America to England will always be a risk due to the different technical aspects of the game. Here, in SA, the game is generally slower and less physical when compared to the premiership. I have not been impressed with Boca this year, but perhaps this is compounded by the inclusion of Riquelme who has been an absolute waste of space, although Roberto Palacio has caught my eye a few times (winger who can player either side). River Plate again have not been at their best this season, though i am a big fan of their stricker Farias. I have only watched San Lorenzo a coupple of times, and they do look good going forward, although they are not a team I really follow. Here in Peru we are going through a dearth of talent in the National leagues. The quality is poor. I am very surprised that Farfan though has not been touted for the premiership as I think that he has all the requisites to succeed (power, pace, great upperbody strength, and a good mentality too), although Pizarro appears to be the one moving on (there were newspaper articles here a few months ago stating that Bayern were not renewing his contract due to his inappropriate lifestyle - drink).
