  1. Your signature how can you blame FS, KK and Roeder? FS and SBR both got us to those heights, he was ambitious and did everything he could to get us back up to the top. Every owner makes mistakes btw. KK - saved us relegation, and left after 3 games. Didn't leave us in s*** had a whole season for MA to appoint another manager. Roeder - an unlikely European campaign. Left us better than when we were before he arrived. FS's sacking of Robson, hiring Souness, giving Souness £50m are enough to put him on that list. He backed the manager he appointed. It was the wrong appointment admittedly but didn't appoint Sounes to destroy the club did he? The signings of Owen and Solano at the time were applauded by all, and was done to get us back to the top. But he was the wrong manager to appoint and the wrong man to back wasn't he! Doesn't matter what his motives were, he f***ed up and that was just the tip of the iceberg with him, he was one big fuckup. Also the signing of Owen wasn't applauded by all fans. I can't think of another signing except obviously Shearer, who had that kind of unveiling. FS weren't 'one big fuck up', without him no SBR here, which he backed with the notion of buying young unproven players.

  5. A change of formation that was so successful.. very risky. i think it's a lot more likely he would be a squad player tbh.
  6. they already have a lot better strikers, Martins would be back up. £9m for a back up? you dont like the guy but come off it man. Great price, hope we'll now move on by investing that in 2 strikers and a young winger I didn't mind him actually, he had some moments of brilliance. I was just stating the obvious, the two strikers at Wolfsburg scored goals for fun last year. I don't honestly believe he has what takes to displace either of them, do you honestly thing he will? Or he was brought to improve the first 11?

    RIP sale thread.

I don't know why people find it so difficult to engage their brain before making such assumptions. Does anyone seriously think someone will invest £100m in a football club then turn it into a training academy for a country thousands of miles away? Did you seriously think some London businessman would pay hundreds of millions and pay off debts only to destroy the club and get it relegated ? Why not try engaging YOUR brain - it's fun. Try it. With respect, whatever we think of Ashley I don't believe for a minute that his intention when he bought the club was to destroy NUFC and get us relegated. That has been a consequence of his poor management and bad decisions. Yes that's a reasoned view, but not everyone wants to see the situation in context, for some it's more important to push their point relevant or not...as we'll probably see in subsequent replies. Tbh his supposed quote 'doing this for Iranian football' can be interpreted a number of ways, no one knows what his plans are except it will involve Iranian personnel in some form.
  9. Except Lennon is excelling in a better league and when Odonkor does play he is just s***? They must be so a like Is lennon a good crosser of the ball? Is his technique the weakest element of his game? Answer me those. No not at all, he is a better crosser than you imagine, he is very good dribbler of the ball, great balance, fierce shot on him too.
  10. His reaction to Shearer scoring at his charity game was good to see.
  11. Except Lennon is excelling in a better league and when Odonkor does play he is just shit? They must be so a like
  12. What? Odonkor has hardly played for 2 years and his performances haven't exactly been good when he does play.. it looks like his career could be over sooner rather than later too, in comparison Lennon has been playing very well and is becoming a very fine winger. Do you just hoke through every thread looking for any excuse to disagree with someone.. When i see something i don't agree - i will reply. It's never personal, in this case i believe Kezman made a pretty poor comparison and he acted like he was educated on the two players.. but i don't think he knew about Odonkor's situation... babatunde also pointed it out.

  14. He was just all pace and nothing else. He seriously has no other abilities at all. Can't pass, can't shoot, can't cross. One of the more useless players I've seen. Reminds me of Kerion Dyer every time i see him. Nothing at all like Kieron Dyer. Why can't people recall just how crap Dyer was, couldn't pass, shoot or cross. He used to dribble into a crowd of players and lose the ball.

    RIP sale thread.

If this is all indeed true, this guy could be just as bad as Ashley.. this whole 'doing this for football in Iran' and acquiring Iranian coaches and players wouldn't exactly be a positive step imo. Lets not forget the vast majority of Iran hates westerners, so if we as fans voice disapproval of whats going on, they wouldn't give a shit and they certainly won't run and try sell the club on.

It makes sense this move. Ameobi is a weapon of mass destruction... anything he kicks he destroys.

  18. I didn't think he looked committed all season to be honest. Not compared to how he'd looked in the two preceeding seasons anyway. You're certainly not the only one who thinks this. The fact is, before his injury he'd managed 6 goals in 12 games. If that represents a lack of effort it also represents some f***ing ability, especially in our team All season? before his injury I said You must of missed some of his 8-10 game streak of not scoring long before his injury this year. Or regularly missing sitters at the close of this year, when it really mattered. He got injured in December mate. Before that he was scoring goals and playing well, there was no streak of not scoring Look at the season before he went 10 games without scoring. He weren't playing with an injury either. I was talking about last season though, not the season before. You were asking us all to rate him on his appearances before he was injured.. so the season before that should apply surely? He was fit and healthy and not producing then. no I didn't to be honest, all I was talking about were the 12 games he played last season before getting injured against Pompey As for 2007-08, to say he wasn't producing is going a bit far to be honest. Unless you could give me an extended period during which he really wasn't pulling his weight 15-12-2007 English Premier Fulham 0-1 Newcastle 0 23-12-2007 English Premier Newcastle 2-2 Derby 0 26-12-2007 English Premier Wigan 1-0 Newcastle 0 29-12-2007 English Premier Chelsea 2-1 Newcastle 0 02-01-2008 English Premier Newcastle 0-2 Man City 0 01-03-2008 English Premier Newcastle 0-1 Blackburn 0 08-03-2008 English Premier Liverpool 3-0 Newcastle 0 17-03-2008 English Premier Birmingham 1-1 Newcastle 0 22-03-2008 English Premier Newcastle 2-0 Fulham 0 Gap in dates were African Cup of Nations. RIP sale thread.

The whole thing doesn't make any sense. From Ashley buying the club in the first place all the way through to his running it into the ground now. I wonder how the media would be reacting if the people who bought Man U, Chelsea or Liverpool had done the same sort of thing to them that Ashley has done to us. It's funny how Mike Ashley is a 'fit and proper person' by the Premier League ownership rules but we'd have been better off if a Taiwanese dictator had bought us! Huh? We are one of the most talked about teams pre-season, i don't get your point at all.
