Keegan might have decided to resign, but I don't think we can say he was 'forced out'. The club have already said they tried to work things through, we know how emotional and volatile KK can be. What The Prophet says about Feguson is true as well, no manager is the only man involved in player recruitment. Yes, he should have a massive say, but a lot of other things have to be considered as well. There was fault on both sides here. 100% agreed!

Well, I really have respect for Keegan and his decision and my opinion might not be popular here on the board but I think in the long run the club will benefit from his departure. I mean times have changed sicne the mid 90's. We are not the force we once used to be. Keegan might be the people's favourite - but would he have had success this time around too? I honestly believe NO. He might have kept us in the top half of the league - but let's be honest this wouldn't count as success. We underperformed in the last few seasons - Keegan might saved us from the drop last year - but there might have been other manager who would'Ve done the same I suppose. We've lost the first 9 (!!!) games under his regime. Not so "special". As a player might have reached "the heights" of professional footbal. As manager he almost did the last time around he was at Newcastle. As England manager and at City he failed. Maybe he wanted to finish the job here at Newcastle - but times have changed and even King Kev should have realised that. Not just now. Also in January this year. We need a manager who gets out the most of a decent squad with some star players and not a manger who finishes in a decent position with a squad full of "superstars". Bring in the right guy, Mr. Ashley - I believe you'll do the best for the club.

Good point - make the most out of it!

It might be Shearer time

We might end up with another "Sibierski"... as long as he scores some vital goals... and I am pretty sure Malouda will arrive here by the end of the transfer window.
-
Well, I agree with your comments on Viduka, but out of the Smith/Ameobi/Viduka he is by far the best - Ashton anyone?
-
Viduka might look lazy and not really mobile but he scores goals - something Smith and Ameobi seem to have forgotten.
-
Well, in the end our final league position will very much rely on Owen's fitness - I see him as vital part of our team - as goalscorer as well as linking player between midfield and attack.

A bit too late... but still a screenshot... http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/9137/newcastlevvalencia1rc6.th.jpg

I think the first eleven seem to be a good choice but a bit lightweight in midfield - no cover for defence apart from Guthrie/Barton. From the attacking point of view the best selection - owen to drop deeper, viduka for the holding role upfront, martins "the unpredictable"
-
Bullard. Not a f****** chance in hell!! He played well, but I thought both Butt and Barton were better, and Geremi was involved in both goals on top of that as well. Overall I would say Owen was man of the match. Led by example and had a brilliant game dropping deep and spraying the ball about. Looks fitter and sharper, and still scoring. Barton's best match for the toon

The performance in the first have wasn't too bad tbh, villa's equaliser very lucky. After that we lacked confidence and a leader at the back a la faye. Still I beleive KK will turn the club around - we need some more points on board to be safe but I strongly believe we won't be dragged into the relegation battle (or are we already in it?). With Martins upfront we might get some points int he away games as he's pacy. Support the lads - good times will return!

Thomas Schaaf would be fantastic! Werder Bremen challanges for the German title season for season with limited resources. Also, their director of sport, Klaus Allofs is excellent.

Well, I was really shocked to see Big Sam go - but we need to move on now. I regard Mr. Ashley as a clever businessman so I am sure he makes the right appointment... but who will it be. I am not so sure that it will be an englishman. What about Hitzfeld (leaving Bayern in summer (latest)), Klinsmann, Houllier or even Hiddink?
-
I think we will win this - and it might be three valueable points. Give Big Sam time - Rome wasn't built in one day.
-
Finally we get those important 3 points!
-
a bit better since the changes
-
Bad defending, didn't clear our lines - time for changes
-
We rode our luck tbh...
