It happened to Southampton (it might be a different club) didn't it? They were given a points deduction but it only ended up applying the next season because they were going to be relegated anyway.

They must be doomed

Cash-strapped Portsmouth have asked the Premier League for permission to sell players outside the transfer window. However, BBC sports news correspondent Gordon Farquhar said he believes the transfer window, which ended on 1 February, is a Fifa regulation.
"I don't think it's in the gift of the Premier League to allow Portsmouth to sell players outside of it," he added.
The club confirmed: "We have put in a request to the Premier League to sell players outside the transfer window."

Why are the WBA lot booing Moussi?
You sure they aren't going "MOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUSSSSSSSSi"?

Aldi's socks are much more comfortable. Anyone who's worn them and still doesn't agree is obviously an idiot or doesn't know anything about socks.
Uncanny impression. Alistair Mcgowan eat your heart out.

Carroll hasn't even proved himself to be a championship player yet. At least Shola is good enough where we are.
I do agree with that (somewhat so) but I do think we need to plan for the future now. I don't think Ameobi is going to benefit the side in the premiership what so ever. Carroll and Ranger may not either but we need to try and develop this season to see if their potential will go anywhere with some more regular football. We know we aren't going to spend big next summer for a good striker (fair assumption I believe) and so we need to use the resources we have. Currently we have two decently talented young strikers who maybe could be prem strikers. I'm not saying drop Ameobi and say bye bye but giving the other a fair crack of the whip is important and to say that the idea of playing Carroll ahead of Ameobi is somewhat ridiculous is not true and really quite condescending.
-
Not a fan of Shola, but at 20 he was a year away from scoring goals in the champions leage. Carroll scores less than 1 in 4 in the championship.
He did score goals in the champions league but Carroll has never been given an opportunity in one of the most attacking teams in europe and in one of the best teams in the premiership has he?
So you don't think a 21 year old Shola is capable of more than 4 goals in this league?
A 26 year old Ameobi got 0 in 6 matches in the Championship.

Doesn't answer my question in the slightest.
wtf?
It totally answers your question.
You think that Carroll will be a better player than Shola because the latter didn't develop properly? What absolute nonsense.
Wow, it must be difficult being as amazing as you.

well I live in Reading
I am so, so sorry for you
It's not that bad if you never leave your house. But then I also work in Slough. It's a rough life.

?
I never thought about that but it does fit quite well. He's actually making a film named after the area I live in.

Carroll has less ability than Shola demonstrated at the same age, so why do we think he'll develop into a better player?
Because we know that Ameobi developed poorly? Whereas Carroll still has time to develop?
I'm not even much of a Carroll fan but the argument is pretty clear.

well I live in Reading and have been walking in snow up to my knees all day and the temp is below zero and not supposed to improve. Even the gritted roads are really slippery.

What's happening with Lualua?

when was that seven bells statement? I've never heard of it before.

But you won't even vote for the manager, only the president. At least that's what I understand and that should be how it would work. If we start voting for everything to do with the team such as the manager or players we sign then it'll be a joke and won't work.

Dear god that thought of doing a portsmouth sends shudders down my spine, but remeber that it's Barclays and not Ashley thats keeping this club going via the overdraft. If Barclays pulled the plug then we are shafted tbh cause i cannot see ashley put anymore cahs in.
There's a few things that stand out for me currently
1) 3 month loan deals, why not longer.
2) Shepards silence.
3) Americans with Moat hiding in the background why ?
Because that's the maximum length of time for a loan made outside the transfer window?
-
I have a feeling that our loan transfer dealings are over until January now as Hughton has only publicly indicated that we were in the market for a striker and a forward which we have just about acquired with the arrival of Harewood and Zurab. That makes it even more important for Lua Lua to make some sort of impression when he gets playing time otherwise we are stuck with using players out of positon till Xmas.
After a Striker & a Forward?

That Riise fellah says that Duff is faster than him? Is he half snail?

Watson was around 16 years and 7 months old according to the dates on wikipedia

Plus Tozer actually has experience playing league 1 teams when he was at Swindon right? So it's not like we're throwing him totally in the deep end.

I'm freakin' out, they keep on talking about The Nile and Moses.
Fight/bust up at the training ground?

it reads like she's comparing apartheid to Carroll punching Taylor.
