  1. Houllier would be the safest bet but from what i remember the football his liverpool side played was pretty dour.  Not sure how his Lyon side played though so if anyone could enlighten me that would be great.  I would still take him though because you can't argue with the results he got for liverpool really and he could be interested.

Hitzfeld is obviously a great manager but i think unrealistic.  The football his Bayern side currently play though is great, just don't think there is a cat's chance in hell.

Van Gaal is a excellent manager currently doing brilliantly with Alkmaar.  The football they play is meant to be fantastic as well.  We could maybe tempt him because as i understand it Alkmaar are quite a small club in what is largely an average league.  As the man is so arrogant that he makes Mourinho look modest perhaps he would like a shot in the premiership trying to make a team filled with promise finally meet it.

If we got any of these managers it would be amazing.

  2. Charity shield and Super Cup are not major trophies as they are one off matches.  We have more League and FA cup titles.  They've one the league cup and cup winners cup more but those are the most tin pot of trophies in both domestic and european football.

There history of success as a club is very similar to ours so that does not give them any right (the titles from 2005 to 2007 may do but then why not just say that rather than give full title break down).

  3. It just seems fairly obvious to me from some things Sam's said about the place about liking inswinging crosses and liking wingers who cut inside, and also from the style of full backs he's been using (quick, athletic and able to support the attack) that what Sam wants is a right footer on the left in the form of Milner and a left footer on the right (probably Duff with N'Zogbia possibly taking over once Enrique gets fully bedded into England), this way he has people able to cut in, cross in swingers or take shots but also fullbacks who are natural to there side (left footer on left right, footer on right) who can put some more conventional crosses from the byline.  This could create a really good balance in our wing play and some unpredictability in what we will do as well rather than just get to the by line and cross over and over again.

Not saying this is a great idea but an interesting one none the less.  We'll see when Duff is back i suppose.  I think the left wing play has mostly been good but our right is mostly ignored, hopefully that is because he is waiting for Duff to return.

Ummmm sorry about it being one stupidly long sentence.

  4. The sun article that claims this also claims we will replace him with Anelka.  Now i would take that as i think Anelka will cost less than 15 million (probably 10) and he offers an alround classier game and is less injury proned.  He also hasn't sulked once since going to Bolton (at least as far as i have heard).  But probably will be looking to get out of Bolton given their position.

  5. Yes he is an Arsenal fan but he grew up next to West Hams training ground (or stadium i forget which one) and most his family still does so he probably has some feelings towwards the club.  I think i read many of his family are West Ham fans.

  6. The closest airport to reading would be heathrow.  Reading does have good rail links though so getting to reading by train is always pretty easy.  The pub next to the train station (the three guineas) is a good away pub as well and there are always bus services from the station to the ground (which is a bit out of town).  The only thing to be careful of is that Reading fans are very predominately cocks.

  7. funny thing is, while i am not fully on the side of Luque is the answer (although i would like him to have a few games in a row), some west ham fans on rivals forum did come on and say when he decideshe doesn't like a player he'll ignore them no matter the situation.  I didn't believe them but this really does look like just what they were describing.
