  1. Simpson continues to look very vulnerable at the back despite some OK play going forward. Santon?
  2. Looks like a knee to knee clash - probably very painful but hopefully not too serious.
  3. Unbelievable save by Krul. Unbelievably shit defending by Simpson.
  4. It's so blindingly obvious that Lovenkrands offers less than nothing. Sammy please. Please. Pirtles' head would explode watching Sammy play.
  5. Once again this commentary team shows how inept they are. It's really embarrassing to hear them attempt to discuss the players in our squad - "I've never seen Marveaux, but is he a gamechanger? Don't think so." Wow - you are a professional, sir.
  6. Obertan does look like he's growing in confidence. Starting to become more noticeable on the pitch - that's a start.
  7. These commentators are matching the quality of play brilliantly. It's been 20 minutes of nothing.
  8. Really rudderless start. Just no movement at all - very static. Tiote's been off his game so far, too. Given it away a couple of times and mistimed a tackle or two. If he's not sharp, we are fucked.

    Joey Barton

I assume they'll just be adding the Champions League badges on Barton's new shirt soon enough, then. Er, sorry, meant the Championship badges.

Will definitely miss his spirit and enthusiasm even if it often manifests itself in rash, stupid decisions. He did seem to get the club more than most. I don't think he's at all irreplaceable. Well, except that we don't seem to be capable of buying anyone. In that sense, every player is irreplaceable. But if we were the sort of club who bought players sensibly, I wouldn't be all that concerned about the loss. We aren't, so I am.

    Joey Barton

At this stage, seems to me that it's quite likely he's going to take the money at QPR. He's a free agent, he's looking for security, he's going to be offered ludicrous wages, why not do as his mate Kevin Nolan did and go to a smaller London club? Both of them have gotten to the stage of their careers where they know this is likely the last major deal either will sign and they want to make it count. Fair play to them. The lack of foresight from the club, however, is unforgivable. The lack of awareness that the price of doing business has gone up substantially since clubs know we now desperately need replacements and we have money is criminal, however. Letting Barton and Nolan go is understandable if there's a plan. Since there isn't, it's insanity.
  12. We don't move the ball fast enough - they're pressuring high up the pitch and our defenders and midfielders are passing it slowly and moving slower still. We've got to find someone to better link the play and move off the ball to open space - they are finding it too easy to force us into aimless long ball hoofs to Shola and/or bad passes. Tiote's been caught in possession a few times, given it away a few times - there's no link play to speak of.
  13. For those just listening - when you see the replay, you will go insane. You will lose your mind. IT WAS UNBELIEVABLY OBVIOUS.
  14. Fucking obvious handball and red card - absolutely atrocious decision. Couldn't have been more obvious. Embarrassing from the so-called best ref in the country.

  16. Brilliant equaliser from Lyon - bending cross from Michel Bastos side-footed in on the volley by Bafetimbi Gomis (remember when we were thisclose to signing him?)...
  17. Erm, they didn't play hoofball until Cardiff got so narrow that they had to revert to it? As I said, I picked it up around the 60th minute and all I saw was hoofball. Couldn't comment on what happened before. Hoof it, flick on, repeat, etc. Saw it 1000X with FSA at Bolton, here, Blackburn, and now West Ham. He is the same manager he always was. Of course he is.
  18. Green was awful there - hope anyone who had even the slightest idea to sign him was watching. I watched the last 25-30 mins of West Ham/Cardiff and I must say Nolan was, predictably, anonymous. He and Parker were average or worse - Fat Sam's hoofball didn't help them, but still.
  19. Manchester City have looked, sadly, very impressive today. Add Aguero to the mix with Dzeko, Silva, Balotelli, Yaya Toure, etc and they will take some beating this year.
