Ben Arfa's been constantly showing for the ball and creating space. His free kicks have been poor but everything else is fantastic. It's such a difference-maker to have him and Tiote in the side - it's no surprise that Barton's been so much better in this match and in the Everton match...he's got so much time on the ball and can pick every pass.
We're looking very comfortable in the middle of the park without showing a lot of end-product. Barton and Tiote very much in control, Ben Arfa attracting unbelievable amounts of attention on the ball, opening up space for others.
Just need to put a better final ball in.
Liverpool can barely string two passes together at the moment. And you can't see where any goals will come from...
Hodgson's solidified everyone's quite proper conclusion about his appointment at Liverpool very quickly.
As there should be.
Liverppol have no width, no inspiration, Gerrard is totally subdued, Torres is carrying a knock and is off the pace, Cole/Meireles largely anonymous. Anfield has been quiet. mackems in control - 55/45 possession advantage.
Liverpool are just nothing. They've offered nothing at all since the freak goal. They've become Fulham in record time - a distinctly average Premier League side. Actually, Fulham have looked better.
It was very clear that Turner was merely leaving the ball for Mignolet to take the free kick. It was never in a million years a pass and only the most pedantic interpretation of the rulebook would allow for that decision to be reached.
Attwell is a joke of a ref and that was a terrible decision but it's always fun to laugh at the scum.
Of course, Poulsen has just given them a chance to equalise.
