Putin is due on in a minute to have a bit whine and cry about how crap VAR is.
-
Apologies, I should have known better.
-
Yeah i'd struggle to respond to that one too.
-
You've definitely mastered the art of posting words that haven't ever been used in the thread by anyone else but insinuating that they have. It's a good tactic, I can appreciate it.
-
Your opinion is about as noteworthy as anyone else's in here. We have stonewall penalty, soft penalty, almost certainly not a penalty and not a penalty at all. Anyone can think any of those. I called it soft. It was still given whether you or I like it or not. Nobody is whitewashing anything. In my view.
-
You have cognitive dissonance fella.
-
Well yeah, except it is because it was given and not overturned, just like many many others every week in every league, like it or not. Other than that you're right.
-
The point being I bet there were 50+ posts from people just in here alone that conceded it was soft and possibly incorrect but not definitively so. I said as much myself, but also that VAR is supposed to correct clear errors which I don't think that was. At full speed, it's easy to see why it was given. I'd also hated to have exited a tournament to it. Both can be correct. That's it. Nobody is whitewashing anything or saying we're "never wrong" FFS
-
We're whitewashing now, it's like fucking Watergate in here
-
Yup paranoid after commenting on the fact you've been in here for 48 hours straight whining. You're right mate, the paranoia is off the scale in here.
-
Aye and we're all mind readers.
-
Aye apart from typing "deep down I probably hate the englishmen with a passion", you're spot on.
-
I'd never have guessed like
-
It's fine to disagree. I think a certain amount of analysis is to be expected, just not 48 fucking hours of ongoing fewm. I already said I thought it could be considered a bit soft and wouldn't have liked it to have gone against England but that's true of any contentious decision. I also said VAR is to be used for clear and obvious mistakes and as much as you seemingly want to paint it as the worst decision ever, it clearly is a bog standard decisions nowadays and I'm glad it benefitted my team for once, though I have a degree of sympathy for Denmark. As for how you feel about England, no idea pal, your avatar provides a clue. But you seem very excited about this, and if you want to discuss bad decisions, there were many of them just in that game. The referee was god awful on both sides. Kane could easily have had a PK in normal time, probably a terrible decision also that was barely reviewed. Why isn't that being discussed?
-
The volume of people foaming at the mouth over it and reviewing it endlessly is fucking pathetic man, wouldn't have gone on like this for any other nation. And yeah, the agenda is quite obvious, I mean you've been in here for two full days on about it. VAR is meant to rectify clear and obvious mistakes, there's no way that's a clear and obvious mistake, Sterling was running about 15 MPH through defenders man
-
Christ, is there anyone that hasn't stuck their sneck in and had a say on this? Anyone who hasn't reviewed it and blubbed about how unfair it all is? Who's next with an agenda to weigh in on the scandal of it all? Pierluigi Collina? Joe fucking Biden? It was a soft penalty, i'd have hated to go out of a tournament to it but to say worst VAR penalty decision ever, ignores weekly penalty decisions that have become almost accepted in the PL. Check out Vardy's ridiculous penalty against Spurs in the last game of last season, you'd think he'd stepped on a land mine. The fallout from this is agenda-driven bollocks, all of it.

Watched the game again this morning, just to see it all again with the tension, adrenaline and bias removed. The thing that impressed me most is the mental toughness this team has. We definitely can play better, there are arguments for different personnel (particularly in midfield) and Pickford terrifies me against seasoned opponents like Italy. All that said, I watched players like Kane in the aftermath of the Denmark goal and there's just this single-mindedness thing going on, we refused to be beaten. We were actually much much better immediately after going behind and attacked relentlessly. Kane's pass for the equaliser was fucking outrageous vision, not seen a better pass all tournament. I was screaming for subs in normal time but everything just made sense watching it with the passion and tension put aside, everything was done at the right time and we just wore them down. Enough said on the penalty by millions of others, I wouldn't have wanted to go out to that and huge respect to Denmark as well. But we deserved that, first time since maybe Italia 90 that I can remember being truly proud of an England team. 96 was fun too, great players but this side has a mental toughness i've never seen before and it's needed, it's an intangible that a modern international team needs and we finally have it allied to quality. We can actually win a major tournament, never thought i'd actually say those words.
-
Sterling was pretty amazing by the way, that energy in ET was fucking massive
-
I think overall we deserved it. It's a shame it had to be contentious and i'd have hated to go out to something like that. That said GTFI.
-
Could have made those changes at 60 minutes and we might not even have to endure ET
-
Finally changes!
-
Denmark have made 5 changes to our 1, Jesus wept
-
since he setup Sterling against Croatia, he hasn't done a fucking thing Phillips, sick of the sight of the cunt
-
wish Shaw would go outside, never even looks in that direction
-
fresh legs in the middle FFS!!!!
