It took until almost June but finally, finally, something good happened in this hellscape of a season

The bolded is sort of how I feel about him. From apparently being a bit of a tit over playing on the right, to getting himself sent off at a couple of key times and then basically sacking off the last couple of months of the season just finished when we could have used a lot more in the attacking sense, i'm not really feeling this send-off too much. That said, by all accounts, he was sound as off the field and did some lovely things in his early days here, he was pretty damn good in 23/24, got himself a great move and we got an appropriate fee. The only thing that really matters now is the money is spent in the right way.

Don't think that would be much of a surprise, a new coaching voice and a less physical league will suit him no doubt.

Feel a tinge of disappointment that he never really came close to fulfilling his potential with us but maybe he was never that good or likely to get there anyway. Best for all concerned this deal, he's clearly wanted away for a while, can't do much better than selling abroad for a reasonable fee.

Early business selling a want-away player and abroad to boot. Another 5-10m is neither here nor there for me, the benefits outweigh the negatives. This is much better then selling him to Liverpool for a few quid more.

I do find it weird and crazy that it's basically acceptable that players these days, as well remunerated as they are, can just sort of make it clear they're moving on and get a few weeks off no bother. Like how about you earn your wages for the final few weeks at least. too much to ask? Puts the manager between a rock and a hard place, play a disenchanted player and risk injury and the fee we could reasonably expect, or pretend there's injuries and make excuses for the cunt. Can't wait to see the back of this lad, which is a shame because our wide options are currently fucking shit. *few assumptions in there but probably won't be far off

This is as bad as i've seen us play in nearly 5 years. Really angry watching us today, so bad everywhere. Didn't expect a lot but certainly didn't expect this.

In the chilly, grey morning hangover fog of another insipid and slipshod performance that's sliding to another defeat, lacking in basically anything good, i'm as unsure about our direction as i've ever been under Howe. So many things are wrong with us, I don't envy the task of improving us.
