I keep seeing stuff like "Well it'll be Chalobah or Disasi on loan and that'll be it". I don't think even that is likely at this point, window feels like a write-off unfortunately. Hopefully once this damn thing slams shut, we can focus on having a decent season. I'm as frustrated and bored as anyone like.

Howay man. Pointless is watching us give up a 3 goal lead at home to Charlton, then trudge to Oxford a week later to watch us get humped 5-2 in the fog. It's been a flat, boring failure of a window but this team under EH will always be worth my time.

It's hard to get your head around signing basically nobody, nobody that is significantly improving the first team anyway. Not even one major signing is hard to understand when at least 2 positions needed improvement.

Maybe we didn't. Maybe we walked away 2 weeks ago. Haven't really heard anything. Doesn't explain the lack of alternatives explored but i'm not convinced we didn't give up on this some time back.

Been pretty clear for a while that Palace never wanted to, or needed to, sell. That we appear to have spent over a month chasing one player, knowing we needed a CB and a RW, to ultimately end up with neither. Yeah, not good like.

Yeah I think there's some logic there. We're not at it 100% yet, maybe the fractured summer with too many key players being away has affected the synergy on the pitch a bit. I have to believe it will get better as Summer turns to Autumn, seen it too many times in the past. They're a great group of players who play for each other.

The Isak thing has been bugging me for a while. He's brilliant no doubt, elite even. Worth easily twice what we paid for him and then the rest. Yet we don't seem to consistently get the best out of him and he has far too many games where he's chasing down blind alleys and looking out of sorts and a bit frustrated. It's something we need to improve upon and like everything else, i'm sure it'll click soon.

Fully agree that everything is not perfect. I think there was a feeling amongst most of us that we would just pick up and go ballistic from minute 1, no Europe to hinder us after all. That hasn't happened but we can't play any worse, it'll get better and a signing by the weekend would certainly help.

Fully agree, there has been a lot going on behind the scenes as you mention, PSR annoyances, executive changes, slow window probably partly due to the Euros but maybe we're just exercising caution? I'd love us to make a signing or two, not arguing it would freshen things up. One thing that's a constant is a cracking spirit within (most of) the players and a togetherness. The rust will shake off and things will improve surely.

I don't personally think the 3 games so far are easy to quantify as "garbage". A tricky home game, reduced to 10 men, battled through it and rarely looked like losing. Then two difficult away games where we have started brightly then faded but could have easily won both. I think we can only play better and Tonali coming back fit and ready is massive for us. Take the positives mate, you'll feel better.

Not sure anybody said that in here like? I'm of the opinion it can't get much worse performance-wise and yet we're unbeaten. Plus Sandro is back and looked good and Barnes had a nice cameo in a problem position, so don't really see the need for borderline suicidal-gloom, maybe it's just me though. The whole "club has been a shambles" patter is getting old.

Kind of what I was trying to say during the match thread but you put it better. We can't play much worse and we still haven't lost, clinging to that

Got to hope Tonali being back and making decisive forward passes will unlock something. Not much else to cling to admittedly. The away performances are not great.
