    Alan Pardew

Sounds like he's grown a pair. Mind, we all know he talks a good deal, so will be interesting to see if it's reflected by actual on the pitch decisions.
  3. Weren't the mackems convinced he was going to join them?
  4. We should have been level with 5 minutes to play. We also should've been playing against 10 men. True enough, but to say "Chelsea hung on a bit until the two late sucker punches" is a complete fabrication. I didn't say that, though. Still, we should never have lost that game. Fluke. You didn't, but that's how this discussion (regarding the Chelsea home match) got started.

  6. Didn't Chelsea tear us a new one in the first half? I still have nightmares of Ryan Taylor being raped at left back by Sturridge throughout the first half.
  7. Yep. All they're missing is a lethal striker to finish off the chances and they would be challenging for CL qualification without a doubt. I love watching their current predicament however, so long may it continue.
  8. Don't get me wrong, I don't like them as a club and God knows I hate Suarez, but they average 15 shots a game, which I'm pretty certain is far more than most. Edit: just checked, they'r 3rd in the league for shots, just behind Chelsea and Man City.
  9. They're very dominant and create loads of chances tbf.
  10. Reading a bit of RAWK it is interesting to observe that the fans are slowly but surely becoming quite critical of KK even though the football they play is actually quite good most of the time; they just lack the cutting edge up front. Which is the exact opposite of where we are at: we have a cutting edge but the football we play is hardly exciting. Which led me to wonder: unless a manager can provide good results with attractive football, there is always going to be criticism, but what is worse: getting the results but not the attractive football right, or serving up a spectacle that ultimately fails to deliver the results? Personally, I think I can bare effective, non spectacular football that gets results for a good while, but ultimately I also want to see progress in the on the pitch performances in order to continue to fully support the manager. Thoughts?
  11. The frightening thing is he is only 24 and could yet improve quite a bit too. Without doubt already one of the all time greats, but time is on his side when it comes to claiming the top spot of all time.
  12. The man's a disgrace who brings down every club he manages.
  13. "4 defeats in 5, there's no cause for concern.."
  14. Gerard's defending in that corner..
  15. Holy smoke, that's not a bad goal at all..
  16. Is that in response to me. If so, it was Man City.
  17. Put your hands up like that, any contact and it should be penalty. I seem to remember Ryan Taylor (I think it was) giving away a pen by holding his hands out, and the pundits then certainly didn't think it wasn't a pen.. Edit: just checked, was vs Man City ironically..
