  1. Unbelievable

    Ryan Taylor

He could score the winner from a free kick though..
  2. Possibly the most laughable post on the page. With Wenger at the helm - you jelly? You don't think Wenger knows he needs a left back? Remember what happened with Gervinho?
  3. Just waiting for Arsenal to come and hijack the deal..
  4. Couldn't disagree more. This saga is cringeworthy on so many levels: - why are we even looking at a league 1 goalkeeper aged 25 who has done nothing of note in his career other than having worked with Pardew and our goalkeeping coach before? - why are we offering a pittance, almost an insult? - why are we not willing to negotiate? - why, if we really rate him at just 100k and not a penny more, do we think he's good enough for the Premiership? - why are we publicly saying we are interested and have made a bid even though the bid was rejected "within minutes"? - why are we going ignoring the request of his current club to be silent about our interest even though our offer has been rebuffed and we have no interest in pursuing it further? - why have we offered our final offer straight away? - why are we even spending a minute of our technical team's time on the goalkeeper position, when there are so obviously much, much more pressing areas that need to be addressed asap? - why are we making it look like Pardew is completely out of the loop with regards to transfers? - why have we managed to make ourselves the footballing world's laughing stock again by officially being reported to the PL? If this shambles does not condone us expressing our discontent about the way the club is being run, I don't know what does..
  5. wouldn't be the first time a young Egyptian player has been loaned to a Premier League team rather than just bought Aye, remember Zaki doing something like that, but then he was at an age where he was ready for first team football. Can't really see that being the case with a under 20's Egypt player..?
  6. http://english.ahram.org.eg/~/NewsContent/6/51/19259/Sports/Egyptian-League/Egypt’s-youngster-Salah-says-Newcastle-want-to-sig.aspx If this is true (pretty fucking big if mind), you have to wonder why we would be interested to bring him in for one season only, considering he's an unproven youngster himself?
  7. That's a bit hard to believe like..
  8. How do you guys know he wants to stay in France so certainly?
  9. Guess we'll see if we were really in for him.. We'd certainly try again now he is prepared to leave? Hope it's not Zog MkII
  10. "If we would have paid 3 million for him you'd all be ecstatic.." Aye...let's all slag off our fellow supporters who dare to stay as optimistic as possible in shitty times, instead. That'll make us far more cool. Let's all be as miserable and negative as can be Touched a nerve there, did I POOT?
  11. "If we would have paid 3 million for him you'd all be ecstatic.."
  12. Don't know why, but this part has me in stitches..
  13. Are we seriously going to hand one of our 25 squad places to a league 1 goalkeeper?
  14. The bottom line is very true. If we go down there and lose, having dismantled a half decent team over the last twelve months and bought cheap unproven replacements then there will be absolutely no hiding place for the management. I include Pardew in that; if we lose he'll be all out of spin and bullshine. While I'm equally disgruntled about the lack of investment that's a ridiculous statement. No signing would gurantee a win on Saturday. A defeat would be the culmination of a shambolic last 6 months off the field with the Crown Jewels sold off. We've known what we needed for this season all summer yet failed to address key areas whilst strengthening in areas that arguably weren't pressing concerns. They will be no excuses and as I've said before, for a lot of supporters, a defeat and Pardew will struggle to ever win them back onside. I don't see how the two issues are related. I've written many a time about the investment, or lack of it. Equally it's disgraceful we look like we're going to be left backless for the derby. However, while further investment would increase our chances in any match, to assign a particular defeat to players we haven't bought is silly. What if we'd of invested the Carroll money and lost anyway? It's like us winning and me turning round and saying: 'oh we beat the mackems we don't need to invest any more this summer' Put it this way: do you think losing to our fierce rivals would go down well with an already disgruntled fan base (for massive earlier mistakes and a lack of transfer activity in more recent times)?
  15. I very much doubt we will tbh, based on the summer so far and previous transfer windows with these clowns in charge (remember last January, when we were looking for a striker to compliment Carroll..?) Besides, it is not about signing A left back and A striker... We have lost arguably our two best players overall in these positions in the last 6 months. Their replacements better be damn good..
  16. Because as poor as Shola was in the first half, Ba was worse. Can't have had the ball more than 3 or 4 times. Shola was decent in the first half (as he was in the second). Ba on the other hand..
  17. Assured performance. Shirt is his to lose.
