  1. I don’t see how you can reconcile this position with your claim that you are not impatient in light of a 42% increase year on year of commercial revenue. What do you expect them to do, taking into account the FMV rules? i would say they are doing absolutely brilliantly beating their own ambitious target, and I havr every faith that they will continue to lead us in the right direction. Enjoy the journey, it may be better than any destination we may or may not reach.
  2. Even then, we went from 21m in 2021 (the year they took over) to 46m in 2023… edit: so you meant to say we won’t grow 30% over 2025, but actually said we hadn’t doubled or commercial revenue (which we have) and would flatline “this year” (which we haven’t). Very clear indeed.
  3. Interesting to see how the Botman Burn partnership works. Seeing as Burn has arguably been our best CD this season it could be Schar who ends up the odd one out if they click.
  4. Surprised people are surprised Botman is starting. Howe hinted at it pretty strongly in his presser yesterday, plus with the recent U21 games under his belt he's probably more match fit than Kelly at the moment. He also happens to be our best central defender, so if he's declared ready to go by Bunce of course he would be picked.
  5. Krafth is supposed to be nearly fully fit again, isn't he? Anyway, I think we will have priority targets whom we'll move for if they become available at the right price, but if not we'll happily go with what we've got and wait to do our business in the summer. The pursuit for the best academy prospects will go on regardless.
  6. I feel uncharacteristically optimistic about today’s game. I can’t see how an illness-affected back line can deal with the energy and quality of our midfield and forward line. Also our midfield has been really good at protecting the back four, so as long as we win that midfield battle I think we will have too much for them.
  7. Low and behold, the very same posters who were saying a couple of weeks ago that we had only done minor deals and fherefore failed to reach the 30% growth target in 2024 (link; proven wrong) are now clamouring over each other to predict the growth target is unrealistic going forward. Here’s an idea: why don’t you show some faith and patience in this ownership, who have been on the mark in pretty much every aspect of the running of this club?
  8. Are they any good at defending, their main attackers I mean?
  9. It will be hard, but that's why we've hired one of the best commercial directors in world football. Qualifying for CL, retaining the likes of Isak, Bruno and Tonali and generally growing our worldwide fanbase will be massive. The club's objective is 30& annual growth, so they have been overperforming significantly. I don't see why a 30% increase would be unrealistic as our profile keeps growing.
  10. Considering the seriousness of DE's illness I hope we're not keeping him on for any longer than is necessary. The guy needs to focus on receiving proper treatment instead of being in the firing line for another hectic transfer period with radgies having a go at him and Paul Mitchell for failing to recruit whomever they think we should be buying.
  11. Mate, I've been advocating selling and re-investing to accelerate our growth, and explaining that we cannot continue to spend like we have done as some seemed to think, for well over a year. I did some more digging on the commercial revenue growth rate. It stands at 42% year on year (starting 2022 their first full year and presuming the 2024 forecast is correct). At that rate, it will develop as such: 2025: 96m 2026: 146m 2027: 220m 2028: 333 (more than Man U currently) 2029: 504 (more than Man City currently) Good enough for you..?
  12. What you say is obvious. The point is, if we increase our commercial revenue >30% year on year, and our competitors don’t*, we’ll catch up, and sooner than you might think (law of compound interest**). * For reference here is Man U’s commercial revenue development for the period 2014-2023: (Source: https://swissramble.substack.com/p/manchester-united-finances-q3-202324) **They are essentially flat-lining for the last 8 years. They keep doing that, we overtake them within 6-7 years. Quite frankly I am at a loss with the impatience of some of you. I’d have donated my left bollock five years ago to be where we are today, with an ambitious owner, a team that had some genuinely world class players and huge progress being made in all areas of the club. Plus we’re doing it the right way, as opposed to say PSG. I’m loving life as a NUFC fan at the moment. Yet here we are. Even a 40% increase of commercial revenue compared to last year gets shot down. Edit: all that before even touching upon the obvious restrictions put in place to stop us doing what others have done before to give them a huge head start.
  13. In the short term we’d need to adhere to even more stringent FFP rules. Long term I agree qualifying for CL will unlock additional commercial revenue and prize money that will allow us to continue to progress hopefully.
  14. That's not the vibe I got from Howe's press conference at all...
  15. Over 97% I read somewhere. Not sure it should affect our planning seeing as we no doubt will aim to finish as high as possible.
  16. This is the kind of deal I hope we do plenty of this month
