  1. Hang on This started with TCD complaining that he didn't "understand the plan as to how we close the revenue gap" and that the assertion that "‘More pressure on commercial team’ isn’t a plan." to which Venkman questioned if he wanted a detailed plan in the press, to which TCD replied yes referring to how publicly listed companies often share quite detailed plans in the press. So TCD want a detailed plan, despite NUFC not being publicly listed and it being foolish to divulge any such information to the public, but now that's been pointed out you deride the notion that any such plan could even be viable as "there are only so many things that can be done to lift a club's revenue"? Trust the owners to (continue to) grow the club man. They're doing a pretty decent job of it so far, despite the continued insistence by some that they won't be able to.
  2. I think we all know the answer to that question
  3. I think realistically Eddie is a gatekeeper, in that he was brought in to build the club, and if he hits his ceiling (which he may or may not) our owners might want to replace him at some point with someone ore proven at the very highest level. I don’t see how that is controversial? We’re obviously all hoping we will one day compete for titles and cups regularly. Whether or not we will and whether or not Eddie will be the manager (capable of) taking us there is very much up for debate, no? That’s not to diminish what Eddie has done in his time at the club, which is phenomenal and I think Jordan even acknowledges that. His argument for why we might bring in someone else if ever thing go stale and we fail to qualify for Europe in consecutive seasons, and how any such replacement may be restricted by the same (PSR) constraints and not do significantly better, also seems realistic enough.
  4. NUFC isn’t publicly listed for one. They have no shareholders to impress, so there’s nothing to be gained by them presenting a detailed strategy on how they plan to grow commercial revenue. Quite the contrary in fact.
  5. I agree with pretty much everything he’s said there
  6. Saw Courtois called Atletico out on having a victim complex over it
  7. As per the previous page, there is no such sensor in this year’s ball? Also, with his left standing foot coming in that close to the ball, could well be any slight move is caused by the grass rippling up. Ridiculous decision whatever way you look at it, unless there is other evidence VAR saw that we haven’t. There is no actual evidence of a double tap, let alone it being clear and obvious. Feels a bit like the arguments for our goal vs Arsenal should have been disallowed as surely there must have been something wrong in the build up.
  8. A bit embarrassed about the level of these Real celebrations here. Do they think they’s won the CL outright?
  9. Have to admire Simeone still firing up the crowd here like
  10. Seriously, how can a tie be decided over such a call?
  11. Ridiculous decision. These refs are so bent
  12. Yes, if given the choice I’d prefer to win the cup. If we do, I don’t want us to stop pushing is all.
  13. Why do so many posters assume I would rather we qualify for CL than win the league cup, when what I am actually saying is we shouldn’t be satisfied if we win a cup, and chase CL qualification for all we’ve got as that will ultimately benefit the club more going forward? I want both and I don’t think the rhe rest of the season is immaterial should we win on Sunday. We have CL qualification in our grasp; it’s important that we capitalise on this opportunity.
  14. It’s not about “getting in Europe” though, is it? Massive difference between CL and the other European competitions in terms of revenue and exposure. If we want to keep the likes of Isak and add quality over the next few years, CL qualification is going to be vital.
  15. I’m not saying that though..? Genuinely baffled at how many miss the point of what my gripe was with Stifler’s post
  16. It’s not a choice mate. Stifler argued that PL finishing position was immaterial if we won the LC. Would you agree?
  17. Agreed. As a club and fans we desperately need to shake off the losing finals curse.
  18. With all due respect, I don’t think winning the league cup, as brilliant as it would be to get that monkey of our back, would significantly move the needle in building the brand. Being in the CL for the second time in three years, now you’re talking.
  19. Surely you can see the two things are intrinsically linked? Competing at CL level and in the top four/five in the league when the opportunity arises (like this season) is what will generate the commercial revenue we need to catch up and compete consistently.
  20. If you want to see us compete in the long run, which you seem rather hung up on, CL qualification is vital. I obviously want us to win the final, but to suggest if we win the final out PL finishing position doesn’t matter anymore (which is what Stifler said) is very shortsighted I’m afraid.
