I think we can all agree a penalty was the correct decision. Vertonghen was caught out by the Algerian's movement and felt he had to hit the hand break. Whether the forward would have actually got to the ball or scored is irrelevant. If that was a "gifted" goal every penalty is, or indeed every goal, because without people making mistakes there wouldn't be (m)any goals.

He's actually quite good and has been ripping the Korean league to shreds for 2~3 years now. It's unfortunate that the FA/coach seem to basically ignore domestic-league performances for selection purposes. I'm currently living with a Korean guy in Singapore oldtype, we are waking up at 6am to watch the game. Hes very pessimistic after the Ghana friendly last week. As he rightfully should be. I don't think we're a worse team than Russia but they are clearly better prepared. I read somewhere Russia lost four of their best players to injury in the last few weeks. Not sure how that counts as good preparation.

Tbf beating Algeria will hardly tell us much. True. They have been handed such an easy group man. Will face number 2 of the Germany/Portugal/USA/Ghana group. That will be their first big test.

In his position he is. Ferguson is decent going forward, good cross on him and all, but a left back he is not, and apart from his crossing he lacks every attribute required to make it as a winger in the Premiership imho.

Aye. Just another stupid rule in this FF. It's like they've looked at every other successful FF that has gone before and just went "f*** it, let's change anything we can" This rule actually makes sense to me. Otherwise everybody would just end up with the same squad/players.

You still get the double points, it's in your total. Think they just made a visiual change that you now see the players real score, but in blue color to let you know it's your captain and that you get double points for him. Was this way for me It says i have 77 points. Adding up the scores is 81 points not taking into account Neymars extra 14 Have you made subs. My calculated points total has gone completely since I made subs.
