  1. Think he’s in the naughty corner for refusing to move
  2. We’re in their face from the first kick. Love it
  3. “It is perhaps not the “winning lottery ticket” that former owner Mike Ashley told friends he believed a PIF takeover represented but few could dispute they have transformed Newcastle, injecting hundreds of millions to transform the academy, playing squad and club infrastructure.“ ^ that about sums it all up. It will be a slow process, but we’ll be much better off for it in the long term since they’re building us up to be a sustainable football club operating at the top level.
  4. By "off the pitch" progress I was referring to the perceived willingness of PIF to invest in our long term future. I have zero doubt that they will, and perceive FFP/FMV a much bigger stumbling block (hence concern), as well as the more short term risk of not qualifying for CL again, and thereby failing to rise our commercial profile sufficiently in order to improve commercial revenue to catch up with the biggest clubs. Failing to qualify for CL will see many of our best players leave and essentially a reset of the entire project. I understand everything is tied together, but between our owners' willingness, external conditions and (looking at current performance level) the ability of manager and players to pull off what I think we need short term to keep the momentum going, the former is the least of my worries.
  5. Probably the worst thing they could do is draw attention to it by saying there is nothing there. As for your unwanted child of a broken relationship theory, I'm sure PIF would buy out the Ruebens if the working relationship wasn't working for either party. I'm not at all worried myself about our off the pitch progress. It's a distant third on my NUFC concerns list behind the shackles that are FFP/FMV and our mediocre performances so far this season potentially derailing the project where this season really CL qualification is almost a must if we want to push on.
  6. I'd say there's very little chance of that, unless he leaves by himself. Us having such a mediocre start of the season performance wise also doesn't really help Howe's case I'm afraid
  7. Ridiculous thread/poll. If Howe can only work with overpriced, PL proven players he’ll hold us back sooner rather than later. Under FFP we will need to be very sensible in the transfer market, selling and buying in the right markets and the right price range. I have complete trust in Howe to make this work with whomever the SD responsible for recruitment is. If he’s unwilling to work in that structure I’d back the structure over him. Ultimately our owners and their vision are far more crucial for this club’s future than any player’s or manager’s ability.
  8. FT: another dodgy performance and this time we got the result it deserved. Nowhere to hide in terms of injuries either. Howe will have to earn his corn to turn this form around.
  9. Bruno again. Should have been subbed instead of Joelinton
