I'd be worried if they'd all be happy after the clusterfuck of a season we've endured. We need the players to be self critical however, and be determined to give a better account of themselves next season, not dragging the club's name through the mud and pushing for a better deal that they haven't deserved in the past 12 months (IF what the Independent is suggesting is true).

Wat? I would leave because of pardew...

Aye, we'd sell Cisse without bothering to bring in a replacement. I know we have done it before, but that was on the last day of the transfer window for a ridiculous amount of money when we had a modicum of cover to last us the second half of the season. Circumstances couldn't be more different. Ashley and Dekka are incompetent c***s, but they're not that incompetent.

Probably not as straightforward as that with regards to the contract. yeah probs- but if they allowed it ,Wonga would get 10x as much publicity. For a few weeks in the off season before the shirt has even been introduced. For the duration of their sponsorship they would miss their name on any footage/picture of the club's number 9. Shirt sponsorship is all about exposure, not PR, so I can't see how they could see that as a viable option.

http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/papiss-cisse-will-refuse-to-wear-wonga-sponsored-newcastle-shirt--but-seeks-a-pay-rise-to-stay-at-st-james-park-8652995.html IF there is any truth in him seeking improved terms whilst dragging the club in controversy over its new shirt sponsor (big if mind), he deserves to be told to get his act in order or kindly fuck off. The cheek after such a mediocre season..

People putting 2+ 2 and getting 13. That's against sharia law that.
-
Aye, Wonga will be ecstatic to see the Newcastle number 9 pictured without the name of their company for the next few years despite shelling out millions for the privilege of having their name on the shirt..
-
Many of these hanger-ons will be out of the picture by July 1st if rumours are to be believed. I guess that's what everybody is waiting for.

To refuse to put on the shirt for the club that plays him handsomely for a f***ing sponsor name on it, give over. Some people actually have morals. I highly doubt he'll refuse to wear it, it's his right to object to something and if the club don't compromise with him then we see the real value they put on players, as objects for gain rather than people. Of course you could avoid all this by not cheapening the club by associating it with such a s*** brand to start with... Nearly all football clubs are sponsored by either banks, insurance companies, gambling companies, energy companies, airlines or alcoholic beverages. You could have major reservations with each and every single one of these industries. If professional football players start to play the "shit brand" card, they should ask themselves who pays their outrageous wages.

Seriously, you've just discredited anything you've wrote with ridiculous statements like that. Touchy..

Up there with the Stifler billion that one.. I wonder what a third of a Stifler billion amounts to, probably Pi * the conversion rate of GBP to Indian rupees..

Some decent technical football on display from both sides.

Unless that PFA representative statement is fake it's more than media bollocks tbf.

Missed the first half, but 2-0 doesn't sound too good. I see we have fielded 11 new players..

Well its stupid because he wore a bank sponsor last season... anyway until there are actual quotes from cisse this is probably bullshit That just doesn't hold any water for me. I wouldn't put banks and Wonga in the same category, certainly not from an ethical point of view. If it's on religious ground then they are the same, it's the interest earned regardless of how much. As explained before banks like Virgin money offer no interest loans to muslims. didnt know this, ok well maybe he has a point then, still think its a bit ridiculous, but hopefully there can be a compromise I don't so what product diversification has to do with whether a company is reprehensible or not. If Wonga starts offering saving accounts, would that make them OK for muslims?

I wanted to vote option 2, but I do not back him on this, so I went for 3 in the end, although I don't agree with the exit strategy comment. Poll seems a bit loaded to me.

That the fake Lee Windowlicker account?
