Over 3 million reported as such by Blackburn Rovers. I think he's a snip at £3m or slightly more. Perhaps a sweetener for Hoillet (I hope). Over 3 million reported as such by Blackburn Rovers. I think he's a snip at £3m or slightly more. Perhaps a sweetener for Hoillet (I hope). I really hope our days of offering sweeteners to clubs are over. Especially when the player doesn't play for them anymore. Didn't realise he'd become a free-agent. Inexplicable then. What is? Over 3 million pounds for a backup striker who's never really scored enough goals throughout his mainly non-Premiership career and is in the last year of his contract? Give over.
  2. Can't find any fresh quotes from Laros. Sounds like bullshit to me..

Over 3 million reported as such by Blackburn Rovers, which is decent considering he only has one year left on his deal.

We have 3 strikers left now. One is physically incapable of playing more than 20 minutes and another is capable of 70 minutes at best. You realise the transfer window is still open yes?

Good deal for all parties concerned. Now for a replacement!
  6. A great talent, who apparently has his mind set on joining PSV. A proper right winger with a good cross, but he's not as "ready" for the Premiership as Luuk de Jong undoubtedly is.
  7. How would you know Nostradamus?
  8. Nothing wrong with that. Didn't we reject a 30 million offer for Carroll not so long ago only to see them coming back with 5 million more? I have said earlier Twente are notoriously hard negotiators. If Dekka thought he could just go there and pick their best players up on the cheap he was well mistaken. Why not? We did with Tiote We sold one of the best goalkeepers in the Premiership to the richest football club the world has ever seen for a mere 6 million, yet you wouldn't call us soft touches in negotiation, would you? Besides, Tiote was a fringe player for them, Luuk de Jong is there best and most important player by some distance. Hardly comparable really..

  10. I think there twitter account has something like 150 followers as well. It's their local rag. I'd say it's about as reliable as you can get with regards to FC Twente's transfer dealings.. Like our local rag...? lets be more specific than that, like Lee Ryder (the other local rag writers occasionally get something right) Like a reliable local rag that have direct connections to the higher echelons of the club and will double check before they print or publish anything. Our written press is nothing like the filth you have in your country..
  11. Ball's in his court now. If he really fancies us this is when he pressures his club into accepting a more than reasonable bid. *providing it's true we've actually made a 11 million pound bid in the first place* Whatever way it pans it, it's certainly encouraging that we're seemingly prepared to let Best go and spend this much money to get another striker in *unless Ba or even worse Cisse is attracting serious interest*
  12. Thank f*** for that. Didnt want his mediocre injury prone ass at NUFC Looked superb in that recent friendly vs Germany. On a free I would have gladly had him here.
  13. Barnetta to Schalke confirmed. Sorry if Giggs.

That Mathieu Debuchy thread has all of them going insane it seems. Another little gem, this time on Europa League qualification:
  16. Juventus We should go over the top with a 11 million offer.

  18. I'm not on Twatter, but the mackems at RTG have a thread on a twatter rumour that wor Shola is off to Wham?
  19. Have you told Graeme Carr this yet? If not get a move on. To be fair, its only Carrs specific paid profession to travel the world watching players all year round. Yes hes been doing it for a very long time & has an incredibly proven track record. Lets find out what the random forum member helsug from sweden thinks first, i mean in his equally creditable opinion he might not be worth that much. Well yeah, but it's fair comment that the videos aren't that impressive. I couldn't see any one aspect of his game that stood out. Really? Which videos did you watch?
  20. Is there anyone, more well known, that you can compare him too Unbelievable? Hmmm.. Though call. I'd say he's right footed, slightly less technical but stronger version of Van Persie. There's quite a few good online vids on him though. Search for "Best of Luuk de Jong FC Twente" and "Luuk de Jong | 2011/2012 | The Next Van Persie?" in your favourite online video sharing site for two good examples.

More importantly, when will the penny drop that they have Martin fucking O'Neill has a manager. They have just signed their new right back hours ago for crying out loud and they're starting threads like this..
  22. I've seen a fair bit of him and I think 10 million is a fair price. Certainly wouldn't go much higher than that. The problem with setting a price is you don't necessarily just pay what you think a player is worth. For the selling club there is also the consideration of having to find a replacement, importance to the team and whether they have already sold other players to balance the book, such as Twente have done with Ola John. If they lose De Jong and Douglas they are essentially looking at a rebuilding job and can presumably forget about challenging for the title whereas if they don't they will be in the mix. How much is something like that worth? The latest set of quotes from his manager will really help us and other interested parties though, it's no use hanging on to a player who has made up their mind about wanting to leave.
