  1. With the Europa Cup qualification and Guthrie's departure he would have seen plenty of first team action iyam..
  2. De Guzman from Villareal to Swansea City according to Dutch media
  3. Might be good for his development, but as you say it would require further strengthening in midfield, probably resulting in him being further down the pecking order still. Not sure about Ipswich/Championship either, so for that reason I'm out..
  4. Would that be legal, never heard of that sort of deal happening in the past. Douglas's agents would be royally screwed if a deal like this was struck. Can't see why it would be illegal. The hard part may be convincing Douglas about this course of action, depending on how formal his obligations are to these hanger-ons.. technically it would be fraud i think. Why would it be fraud? Surely the selling and buying parties agree a fee; that's not up to the agent? Wonder how these sort of clauses work in a part exchange situation, or when the player and club decide to run a deal down.. deliberatly selling something under value to avoid other costs. Who determines the value except for the buying and selling clubs?

  8. We done alright out of the Tiote deal. Buyout clause. Ah right is that how we got him so cheap, never realised. Never heard about it either.. The fact is Tiote was a squad player for them as they had better options in midfield at the time. In hindsight I think Twente didn't realise they had a gem just sitting on the bench and sold him to cheaply/should have given him a chance in the first team. Unless of course there actually was a buyout clause.. As I've said before on here though, whilst we're on the topic of wor Cheick, it is a wideheld belief amongst Twente fans (my brother in law is one of them) that they have a clause that sees them profit substantially in case of a future transfer. He's constantly nagging on to me about selling him to Chelsea FFS..
  9. How does 0.5m screw his hanger-ons over? Because a fixed percentage of 0,5 mill is a lot less than the same fixed percentage of 6 mill? Surely Twente just screwing themselves over though. Why? As long as they get the total asking price for both players combined what difference would it make to them?
  10. Twente chairman Munstermann is a notoriously hard negotiator though. Can see parties getting frustrated with each other fairly quickly..

  12. Can't find anything recent - sounds like an old quote. Where did you get this from? Edit: http://www.vi.nl/nieuws/223663/De-Jong-alleen-voor-stupid-money-naar-Newcastle-Utd.htm Too early for a move, should stay for one more season to make the jump to a real top club, blablala. Don't think he has much of a say in the matter anyway..
  13. Was checking a FC Twente forum and one of the posters indicated an interesting possibility with regards to the double deal scenario: considering the trouble with Douglas has been a number of representatives wanting a piece of the pie of any prospective deal, what if we're trying to tie up a double deal for let's say 18 million euros and make it 17,5 million for De Jong and 0,5 for Douglas? That would potentially leave these Douglas hanger-ons in the dark and could give the players and clubs the deal they want.
  14. Have they not just picked up what has been reported over here. They wouldn't pick it up and publish it without checking with their FC Twente contacts, which makes it a lot more reliable than the usual Lee 'windowlicking' Ryder drivel if you ask me.
  15. I don't want to knock Williamson, because he's done OK every time he's had to fill in (which is much more often than you'd like due to Taylor being so injury prone), and I don't know enough about Good, but those options above wouldn't exactly fill me with confidence for a full season with a possible 15 or so European football matches on top of the usual. We'll be lucky to get 30 matches out of Taylor, Perch is just back-up at CB for me, as is Williamson and Good is apparently someone for the development squad. I would want at least one more experienced centre back capable of challenging Taylor and Colo for a first team spot.
  16. Telegraaf? Aye, biggest newspaper in NL with the best sports section. Doesn't mean it's true per se mind, but they have connections to FC Twente directors and officials for sure.
  17. Telegraaf also reporting we are over there for a double deal for De Jong and Douglas: http://www.telegraaf.nl/telesport/voetbal/fctwente/12456886/__Newcastle__shopt__bij_FC_Twente__.html Howay Dekka, make it happen!
  18. He's interested in coming to us according to sources close to the player: http://www.ed.nl/sport/11305579/Newcastle-optie-voor-De-Jong.ece

Simon 'you're a c**t' Bird is saying today that the Gyan fee will only be £4m on top of the £6m loan fee already paid, therefore the Mackems are actually making a £3m loss on him. Meanwhile Gyan's new deal is worth an alleged £140k/week. £21m So is the Journal: http://www.journallive.co.uk/safc/safc-news/2012/06/29/asamoah-gyan-agrees-140-000-a-week-deal-with-al-ain-61634-31284545/ Off to RTG to witness the fallout..
  20. I can't find anything on the Tubantia mobile website, but nu.nl is normally very reliable, so there must be something in this..
  21. 14 seconds, just the extra time it took to type it on my phone..
  22. Dutch media nu.nl reporting that a delegation of NUFC are in Enschede today to hammer out a deal with FC Twente for Luuk de Jong, reported to be in the region of 12,5 million euros.
