  1. What the f*** is wrong with these c***s? This was reported a few days ago. Spurs and Ajax have agreed a fee, but Vertonghen and Ajax have a clause in their contract that Vertonghen is entitled to a percentage of the fee (15%). Ajax apparently maintain that this percentage is based on a higher (minimal?) fee, hence the current status quo. Frank de Boer has said today that he expects there to be a breakthrough shortly with Ajax and Vertonghen coming to a mutual agreement which will allow him to move to Spurs.
  2. Agreed. "In 76 Eredivisie matches, he scored 35 goals and set up many more". What am I missing? I don't know. I've seen a fair bit of him and he's been good, but not impressive. It seems that PSV still don't know his best position; he's not a good enough goal scorer to be a striker and not technical and creative enough to be an attacking midfield player. At 5 million he would be worth it I guess as he would be a good enough squad player, but I think PSV would want a lot more than 5 million for starters, as there have been numerous rumours in the past about Liverpool interest and >10 million transfer fee estimations. Overall, I wouldn't be unhappy if we signed him for a reasonable fee, but likewise I wouldn't be unhappy if we didn't.

I wasn't comparing him to Vuckic per se, just pointing out that he isn't as bad as some people on here make out. In fact, he's one of their most saleable assets and it wouldn't surprise me to see a bigger club come in for him this summer. He's had a good debut season and to pretend otherwise is just short sightedness due to him being a mackem, the same way they go on about how supposedly average Tiote and Ben Arfa are.

If he isn't, than the lad in your avatar is even less so.

Still, showed he can be a good player at this level already and has potential to improve.

McClean has been better than average like. A promising debut half season for a youngster at this level.
  8. Didn't realise Giroud was in France's second tier as recently as 2010. Also, BBC now reporting Gylfi to Spurs: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18599310

Should have been an ex Sun'lun player who got that job, Magedia strikes again. Clark is ex Sun'lun... That was kinda my point but, maybe delivered with irony too sweet to detect.... Yeah, you pretty much came across as an idiot... Must try harder Nah, I think it is you who came across as the idiot.
  11. Spent three years at Feyenoord being a waste of space, than redeemed himself last season to the point where they offered him a new contract. They paid 5 million euros in 2008 form FC Twente and you're now paying 2,8 million. I don't think he's got what it takes to be a PL regular and at 27 he's not going to develop into one.
  12. Pardew didn't mention a name on Talksport did he, just said a loan player had made an impression? After the signing of Lubomir Satka I assumed it was him and not Curtis. Hope you're right and he's ready for some first team action this season already. Certainly a position where we've been lacking a young up and coming player after Kadar fell off the radar.. At the time Pards was talking the French Centre half we had on trial as i remember it, Christophe...... "something" from OM i think. Seeing as he didn't mention a name and we had three CB trialists how do you know who he was talking about at the time, especially as, with the benefit of hindsight, we've signed or are in the process of signing the other two..?

  15. Something like that, Defoe has a similar maximum as well. I would bank on Wellbeck and Carroll too, they can both finish. And to a certain extent Young (when he remembers how to play again). Welbeck has never hit double figures in PL and Carroll, nah. I don't trust them in front of goal. I am hopeful but not expectant. I'm talking about genuine class here. Like Van Persie and Huntelaar class finishing you mean..?
