I want Italy to win this for how they've played in this tournament and because of my natural dislike of arch rivals Germany, but I also ideally want a Germany vs Spain final as I think Germany is a stronger rival for Spain and I would hate Spain to take the trophy especially playing so conservatively..

They will need to or they risk losing out on the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow that is the new TV money. It's a good thing we got our house in order so quickly after going down three years ago, because the fight at the bottom of the Premiership table and the top of the Championship looks like hotting up considerably..

That how we delat with last season first Cabaye and then Ba then Marvoux and then no player until Oberton and then almost finally Santon. I just don't think we could have pull off all this players had we bid as the same time early June and wait and see. Tournament started off well, but it's turned into a borefest really.. Hope Germany of Italy win it, they're the only teams who've impressed and played entertaining football really.

What the f*** is wrong with these c***s? This was reported a few days ago. Spurs and Ajax have agreed a fee, but Vertonghen and Ajax have a clause in their contract that Vertonghen is entitled to a percentage of the fee (15%). Ajax apparently maintain that this percentage is based on a higher (minimal?) fee, hence the current status quo. Frank de Boer has said today that he expects there to be a breakthrough shortly with Ajax and Vertonghen coming to a mutual agreement which will allow him to move to Spurs. It's the same with Manchester City and John Guidetti.. or, it was. If he's sold, Guidetti will get 10% of the transfer fee. But due to the contract situation with FC Twente from last year FC Twente now owns the 10% transfer fee. What's FC Twente got to do with Guidetti?

Inter. Pedant. Must admit, I can't stand people calling Inter 'Milan' or Milan 'AC Milan'. Isn't that what they're called? Only in England have I ever heard people mention "Milan" and mean AC Milan. Elsewhere in Europe people would ask you if you mean AC or Inter... I'd call them Milan & Inter like. It's Internazionale and AC Milan. Dems just what they're called. I'm sure we wouldn't say it this way if it wasn't authentic. Do we have an Italian around these parts? Nixon apparently but he's not around any more. Marcotti calls them Milan/Inter on his tweets and s***. That's good enough for me. The dutch are all high and s*** anyway, they don't know what they're shwaying.

A transfer target rumoured earlier in the close season, Maher from AZ, has indicated he wants to stay in NL and looks like moving to PSV. 7 million euros offered, but AZ are holding out for 12 million. Maybe PSV are sorting out their Toivonen replacement, although I think Maher is more a central midfielder player than a forward.

I am not convinced thats a real quote..... Not the Barca/Busquets part, but the expecting him to stay part due to his importance to Ajax appears to be true.

Aissati has turned down Ajax' offer of a new contract and is now available on a free transfer. He was very promising at PSV a few years back. His career has stalled at Ajax, but the ability is there and I could see us taking a gamble on him to revive his career.
