  1. Congrats on winning the Melt of the Night Award.
  2. My argument is that if we go 3-1 up tonight and against Spurs then we probably don't even concede a second.
  3. We're obviously far from perfect this season and, presently, we are the worst of his teams at least since the start of 22/23. But I'll offer a glass-half-full take and say I think there's a lot to be optimistic about when you look at our games up to now. It's objectively a very good thing that we're so capable of finding the lead anywhere. If we can learn how to capitalise on a lead (looking at our new number 9 here, and hopefully Elanga continuing to improve), then we'll be onto a very good thing. I'll say till I'm blue in the face that the biggest reason (not the only) for these late equalisers is the lack of goals, not the lack of defensive solidity.
  4. It isn't at all. Anyone throwing out the previous criticisms about deliberately sitting back and clinging on is talking shit tbh. We had plenty of the game at their end at 2-1, and it was only the post and an outstanding save which kept us at 2. It doesn't mean we're not still clearly incapable of digging in when it comes to it, which is frustrating.
  5. Mixed feelings. Solid and fair result, did extremely well to turn around the deficit and we were unlucky not to get the third to kill the game. That's an improvement on previous where we've seemingly not even tried to widen the lead. If it wasn't for the umpteenth time I don't think we'd be throwing the table over.
  6. Don't think you can really level that at us here. We tried hard to get a third and started to get pinned back by a good side.
  7. Flekken save from Thiaw the turning point. We're never seeing our a narrow lead here.
  8. As usual the reason why we're so under the cosh now is because we're not more than one in front.
  9. Sorry man but that is just utter shit from Big Nick. Aimless.
  10. Surely this can't be a tactical choice. Surely to fucking god
  11. Think you've misread my post. I'm not blaming the format for our performances. I'm saying the format has made even our good ones feel a bit meh.
  12. Gonna indulge in some hasty pessimism. We're gonna get knocked out of this competition sooner rather than later and we'll be looking around at each other wondering what the point of all that was. The format is mostly to blame for that because it's so bloated and the wins have had an exhibition match feel to them. Even finishing rock bottom of the last one, it felt memorable and agonising. This just feels like we're a resident of Also-ran City. It's obviously on us, as well. Because of our utterly limp performances away from home, we don't feel like we belong at the level at all really. A Europa campaign might have been more fun this season tbh.
  13. Yeah. When the game started I thought we looked in control and very enthused by our approach. We're just playing their game though.
