I think there's a fair question at it's heart tbf. The reality is that we almost certainly do have a better squad than the vast majority of Serie A teams and you have to wonder how or when or if the other leagues will ever catch up with the PL again. Seems almost impossible at this point; the PL feels like a beat or two from becoming hegemonic.

The opportunity that Leverkusen presents in terms of top 8 prospects is too great to rotate too heavily, but it's easily the least important of those four games imo. We could win or lose and still finish between 9th and 16th. We can't be letting the mackems get one over us and the league campaign is just too crucial for us to not prioritise, and beating Fulham puts us in a terrific chance to retain a trophy for the first time since the 50s.

It's a pisser that Weston Super Mare got such a shite draw but their equivalents get to host the holders. That's footy. The competition has been undermined enough without taking away the purest and simplest thing of all: the luck of the draw. Helping out the smaller teams by manufacturing a money-spinning tie is a noble endeavour but it's a bit disingenuous and overly beneficial to the top clubs too, who are being guaranteed a theoretically safer passage. There are better ways to trickle down the cash without undermining the FA Cup (again).

I've not read any Liverpool fan pages so I might be underestimating the scale of allegiance to Salah, but I feel like his actions might have given Slot a bit of a reprieve. The writing is probably on the wall for the bloke but I'd expect he'll have gained some sympathy over this situation, given what Salah has done is easy to side against.
