There isn't a single grain of truth to the suggestion that new players don't play for a year. I could even get pinickity and say even Hall got opportunities early on and established himself as first choice before the season was out. I agree with everything about Howe taking time to bed certain players in.

The two posts I quoted are just exaggerated nonsense, that's all. There's so much to critique without making shit up. So tedious to read.

Tonali started the first game of the season against Villa! Bruno took a bit longer for a start but was in the team by like the fifth game after he signed and never looked back.
-
For me: Ramsdale Livramento - Thiaw - Botman - Hall Miley - Tonali - Ramsey Murphy - Woltemade - Barnes Little expectation that he'll go for that, though.
-
I remember a Bournemouth fan saying exactly this when we first got Howe "Don't get excited by any new signings as they will unlikely play for the first year" More-or-less straight in the team Trippier Wood Burn Targett Bruno Pope Isak Botman Tonali Barnes Elanga Thiaw Woltemade Fewer opportunities to begin with Tino* Gordon* Kelly Osula Ramsey *became established within a year Took a while Hall But please, tell me more about what a Bournemouth fan said.

I'd maintain as I always have that I think it's still too early to judge the transfer window, but I really do think - in particular - that the jibes about our business after every defeat is tiresome and devoid of nuance. A, because it ignores PSR's parasitic influence on what we could actually do in the summer; B, because it ignores the fact our Isak replacement got injured through no fault of our own; and C, because our problems aren't as straightforward as "we should've signed X not Y." Spending £40million on Ramsey has got absolutely fuck all to do with our insanely weak mentality on the road, for instance. I literally don't know why we're so Jekyll and Hyde this season. If I was to put it down to one thing above all, it would be the Wissa, Tino and Hall sharing the physioroom all at the same time, leading to us falling on the wrong side of incredibly fine-margin games thereby obstructing momentum and damaging morale. You can't blame our transfer window for that. "We should've signed cover for Hall!" Sorry, no. That's just an incredibly harsh stick to beat us with given the summer conditions. Who could we even have got who was any good and happy to play second fiddle to a 21-year-old? Not to mention the plethora of full-backs we were already paying for.
-
Sorry should we have bought more than one absolutely class CB?
-
Agree with that. He's looking like the first big miss but you never know, he might catch fire. I certainly can't believe he was every this poor for Forest. Throwing Wissa and Ramsey in and having a pop at Howe/anyone for wasting £150m is utterly stupid though. Ramsey looks a good player and in Wissa we were signing a PL goalscorer who'd never so much as stubbed his toe in his life. Absolutely dire misfortune that he's done his knee before he's even played for us.
-
Well yeah. He got like 30 goals/assists in the last two seasons. For some reason it hasn't worked out for him here yet.
-
There's time for both of these lads to come good I continue to be completely mystified about Ramsey being thrown in with Elanga. I think he's looked decent every time he's played and not sure what he's done wrong.

Searching for crumbs of positivity I thought I'd drag this guy's thread up from near the bottom of page two. Thought he was really bright when he came on, not for the first time, and if we ever find our groove I think he'll turn out to be a good player for us. Keen to see more from him.
-
never seen the pitch at any level higher than the academy but aye chuck him in at the Velodrome. Almost as daft as the suggestion that we should remove our in-form, goal-scoring winner from his current position.
-
I definitely no longer think he can play CF but I don't knock the decision to play him there. Wissa and Osula are injured and Woltemade needs a rest. That really does just leave Gordon. Not Barnes, cos that's taking him away from LW. Not Joelinton, because just no, and not and academy player, because that's totally fucking stupid. Continues to let his manager down. Becoming fairly predictable with him and I say that as a fan.
-
If he can't get in now then he never will.
-
I tend to find it easy to find the good/positive/mitigation but am finding it extremely difficult to just see past the fact we've lost from a winning position for the umpteenth time this season. Feels like a really bad one because Man City feels like another false start, and it wasn't just on Nick Pope. Just got to hope having both full-backs and Woltemade from the start will mean something different at the weekend.
-
I do think the initial set up was fine. We were capable of containing this team and finding another on the break; it's just that the passing and composure in the final third was so dire in that first half, we didn't capitalise. Pope will rightly get pelters for that incredibly costly rush of blood, but it doesn't matter if we finish the job in the first half. We were largely very ineffective at chasing the game, which always seems to be the case and is definitely accountable to Howe. For one thing the first raft of changes killed the momentum we were building.
-
He's accountable to the away form like, definitely. I thought he had us set up fine enough, but there is obviously a fundamental issue in the heart of the whole set-up which means we cannot do a fucking thing on the road. I don't know how you identify it or how you fix it, but hopefully he can and will. Thought the first set of second half subs were bizarre but we looked much better after the next raft of changes.
-
God I can't bear defeats these days, man. Three mornings I haven't woken up and wanted to top myself wasn't nearly enough. How well we played barely when matters at this point, though we were a 6/10 if you're being extremely generous. The point is we lost from a winning position in the third fucking away game in a row. That is an absolutely terrible sequence. Mannnnn 😫😫😫
-
What an absolutely horrible feeling. Alright it wasn't the West Ham or Brentford horror shows but it doesn't matter a jot. Another total capitulation away from home. Absolutely gutting. Feels like we're not gonna get anywhere this season.
-
That is absolutely awful from Tonali, Jesus Christ
-
You can see this getting pretty messy like. Adore the bloke but not a fucking clue what he's done to us with these subs. It just needed Wolt on.
-
We were coming back into the game as well. Subs have sent us absolutely west.
-
Eesh we don't look settled at all here.

Why is Miley at RWB

Does anyone know where they're meant to be with these changes
