    Pardew Out?

Absolute tosh! Even with a depleted squad the teams we put out against Swansea, West Ham and Southampton were far superior player-for-player. We had home advantage in two of the three games and remember, the opposition didn't scrape lucky wins, they played us off the park. To further strengthen my argument, take a look at the Maritimo game - we put all of our big guns out and got outplayed by a small-time Portuguese team. I just think calls for his head are a bit knee-jerk in the circumstances. Even the loss of Colo, HBA and Cabaye is bound to play a part. That's a 3rd of the 1st team. I don't think there's a glut of great managers who'd be prepared to take over and work under Ashleys restraints either. Let's weather the storm until we get our 1st X1 back and hopefully he's given the chance to reinforce in Jan'. A bit of stability at the club is what's needed i think. We have a thin squad cause Pardew didn't have the balls or the self-esteem or the honesty to fight for a bigger squad. Comprende?

He's just realised the squad isn't deep enough has he?

The silver fox hunts at night.
  5. Back to Italy I reckon now he's inj free and back to his best. Not gonna hang around for mid-table finishes and relegation battles. This is the other issue with Pardew - the longer the malaise goes on our better players will lose interest.

What on earth are you banging on about? Is Arsene Wenger just a French bloke underneath? Yeah Wenger man total charlatan. French as well.

    Pardew Out?

Same here but I do believe a correlation can be made between what kind of character they are and their abilities/ideas or lack of. KK for example was an extrovert,a real charmer, a very positive forward thinking person and that's how his side played. Bobby was a bubbly positive person as well, full of adventure and excitable. Dalglish on the other hand was dour and that's how his sides played. Pardew is a bit false if you ask me, he's a working class bloke in an Armani suit with Hugo Boss glasses, a cosmopolitan wife and a dossier for every team and player. He has created an image for himself and speaks a good game, but when that image is exposed, well, he's just a working class bloke underneath it all. We play like his character. We are just a workmanlike team basically. I run my own business and whenever I employ someone I always look at their character first and what kind of person they are. We have one kid working for us, he's a lazy so and so but he's a very funny kid and very likeable, he makes others tick. Give me him over a harder working kid who has nowt about him. You can tell a lot about a manager from their character and just what kind of managers they are or will be. That's a very astute post HTT.

    Pardew Out?

And was so good that Real bought him. Never got a game did he? 34 games in 2 and a half years. n August 2006, a scuffle erupted at a Real Madrid training session, following a hard tackle by Gravesen on teammate Robinho,[5] Fabio Capello, the former Real Madrid manager, said about Gravesen: "The way he is, we won't have problems with him. He's just a little bit particular. I don't mess with him, he scares me - he works well tactically. His behaviour is like this, and I don't like it, everything has to be done like he wants it to be done".[6] Gravesen looked likely to leave Real Madrid before the start of the 2006–07 season, with his agent John Sivebæk confirming that a number of clubs – including Newcastle United in England[

Davie Weir was about 54 I think, still played for another 6 years or so too. Moyes is doing well for a 90 year old.

Think Gravesen was about 33 then as well.

    Pardew Out?

We'll get beat at Stoke and if we lose to Wigan at home, things will be seriously unhinged with regard to Pardew being able to pull things round. The team looks lost at the moment. Lacking ideas, confidence and certain players look like they have lost faith in the project they clearly believed in last year. He didn't manage to turn it around at West Ham or S'hampton, nothing suggest he will here. There is a tiny chance he has learnt from those experiences and ironically I maintain he is a better coach now in some areas - preperation and man management...But tactically he is still the same: Direct and percentage. For the sake of the club I hope he does and I also hope that MA doesn't dither in the Jan window (we need at least 2 first team players). These so called weaker sides are beginning to play the kind of football that is beginning to make others relegation candidates - even S'thampton now look much more cohesive and confident.
  13. I still think it's very early days for him and he will turn out to be a good squad player for us.

    Pardew Out?

He deserves to be sacked for that decision alone, Pardew Out! Here's a funny one from the Gooners.. "Allardyce’s teams have always caused us problems, the long ball, pacy wingers, monstrous centre forwards, hard working spiteful midfield and Easter Island figures at centreback are his trademark. Add to that a GK who invariably plays out of his skin and we can see why an artistic team would struggle. I don’t like FSA or his teams, which is a shame because I have always had a soft spot for the Hammers. From the 3 world cup heroes to Alan Devonshire and Trevor Brooking and onto Macavennie and Cottee they have had style. A trip to the Boleyn guaranteed entertainment (not least from the Chicken Run). But Allardyce? Shame on the Director’s of this once classy club. They have become the London Orcs and why? Because the shouting, angry, gum-chewing Chewbacca is the anti-Christ of passing football."

To my knowlege the only player we bought on Pards say so was Obertan and only cause Rednose phoned him direct.

    Pardew Out?

Pards is the old style Eng manager who's picked up on one stat- that 80% of goals come from moves with less than 5 passes. That's his tactical gameplan in a nutshell.

"Really hate Long ball doesn't work. Even with Benteke. Needs to stop before the next game." Long ball football are the trademark tactics of a poor manager and a team that is incapable of playing football the way it should be played. I never want to see it used by Villa other than once in a while as an opportunity during a game rather than the norm from the outset. It is boring, dull and so 'Sunday Pub Side'.

What lies? Well the lies to Cabaye and Anita etc etc that we play good football for one You only have to look at my sig.*

Important points that haven't been mentioned much. The fitness thing has been a real mystery, I know some of them had a longer break (Cabaye for one) but the intensity and high tempo has been singularly missing.

He also promised them proper football.

Pretty rare that it doesn't happen before any manager is sacked tbh, at any club. That's true. Looking through some of his previous club's forums makes for grim reading though. That bald nutter who owned West Ham called him "a cancer" for example. Bit ott.

    Alan Pardew

If that's the case, I wonder when it happened. How early was it that he came out with the comment about one or two having their heads turned during the summer ? Was it pre-season ? Think these days players have to believe in the 'whole project', especially good players who can easily move to other clubs. The window was a very negative signal to the players imo as well as them probably beginning to see through what Pards has been selling them to this point. No doubt in my mind one or two were dissapointed they didn't get a move in the summer.

    Alan Pardew

Looked at his post match a few times. He's asking for his 7 or 8 main players to step up now. I don't think under the format we're playing it will make much difference even if they do. Like the first 20min today we looked quite bright, but the whole system and method of the side is wrong. S'ton more often than not played through the midfield we did the reverse. Our good players must be hating playing that way.

    Pardew Out?

Thomas Tuchel and Marcus Babbel are excellent young managers imo and not massive names. Might love a crack at the PL. As said above there are a lot of very good young coaches out there, just below the radar. Although as already said MA will hang onto Pards as long as possible as they seem to have a good relationship...Wether that will last a relegation battle remains to be seen. I suspect MA will want to protect his investment and not take another 50m relegation hit. A few weeks ago I was still in the Pards will turn it around camp...But it really is looking grim now. Think there is a lot more wrong than just formations and injuries or whatever..Think the players aren't really sure what's going on anymore and certainly there have been signs over the last few weeks that some of them aren't that focused (being polite). If that is the case then it's now becoming almost a herculian task for Pardew. I don't have anything against him but just looks like he's really out of his depth in this particular situation. What's very alarming is seeing him stick to such a bankrupt gameplan for so long.
