Thought someone was going to cook up some half arsed defence for it by mentioning Gattuso and Pirlo.

Seriously this lark has to stop it is limiting our options all over the place. Sam's safety first I only want to see away to the big 4 and never in other games. The mf three should be a holding DM, an allround midfielder with good passing skills and license to move up and an attaking midfielder who should generate tempo and attack the box with late runs. ....and who be they?

I'll take SWP out if more think he's too old. Looks so young.
-
Zoggy, Milner, SWP, Lennon, Ashley Young, Bentley. Filtered out from the discussion on today's matches, there seems to be some mileage in this as they are all young and have broken through in the last couple of years. For me SWP might be the most pacey and clearly dangerous, but often not effective with his final ball and also tends to overrun things. Was very impressed with Ashley Young today. Zoggy is basically the most attacking and skillful player we have. Milner is two footed unlike those above and has steadily improved. Pace is his biggest weakness. Lennon as has been seen can't play on the left and his crossing needs a lot to be desired. Over cooks it when his girlfriend is watching and wears pink to nightclubs.

False. Your opinion matters not, tbh. and your points of view are usually flawed tbh. I'll play... Ok I think (this is my opinion here) that N'Zogbia's technique is far better than all the players I've listed, this isn't NUFC bias but an opinion based on watching these players and making a judgment on what I've seen. He also has the pace, strength and power to match while his ball skills, well they are there for anyone to witness, he danced through 4 players yesterday within 15 yards of space on the left touchline where many would have lost out after the first hurdle. What he also has is an imagination which separates him from the others, he seems a brighter player in the head. Now I'm not saying he's streets ahead of these players, because he isn't, just that for me he has something extra in his locker. Zoggy has it in him to be the best attacking player at the club.

I like Milner always have and he has developed a rare telekenesis with Zoggy which was plain to see the other day. The combined well and service well over 70% of our chances iirc. But Ashley Young is a better player than him in some ways mainly pace and close control. What I really like about Milner is that he is becoming more two footed as the years roll on.

People are just commenting on whats happend so far, Spurs were praised to high heaven through out the transfer window and nearly everyday we were told how they are amazing and they will beat Arsenal to 4th place. Im happy the wheels are falling off tbh, Im not totally writing Spurs off i think they have a good strike force and on their day they can be a match for anyone but they seem to be turning up expecting the other team to let them win. Not by me mind.

They've got Ledley and Dawson to return and Kaboul looks alright. However in midfield, Zokora is a nothing midfielder. Doesn't defend well and doesn't attack either. He's just kind of there ... Huddlestone is talented and passes the ball well, but then he doesn't quite work in a 4-4-2 as he doesn't quite get around the pitch well enough, and so it leaves them exposed. The left wing is just weird too, they constantly rotate random right wingers into the psoition and it just never quite works. On the whole they also seem to lack character and toughness. They have no real leadership and are a pretty quiet team. When under the kosh they will always crumble. Could you imagine them fighting Chelsea the way villa did today? Powder Puff Pansies tbh. Spot on. Throw in the fact that Bale is tiny and might get blown away if there is a strong wind.

Young is in a totally different league to Milner that is beyond debate.

Well out of their 4 games they've played 3 at home to Fulham, ManC and Pompey. The away game to Blackburn they drew. We'' wait and see shall we. I still say that although clearly better than ours their squad isn't as good as it was 3/4 years ago and the younger players will start to suffer when the CL programme kicks in. Hope so anyway.
-
You're wrong Kaka...Spurs and thier 'planning' is light years ahead of us.. I think of that lot Everton look to me the strongest. We will get a lot better over the coming weeks.
-
Villa have a good record against Chelsea at their place anyway I do think in general though that the top 4 are all dropping slightly more points or at least having to work harder than they used to in games like today's. Last season we took 4 each from Arsenal and Liverpool, were mugged twice against Chelsea and shot ourselves in the foot spectacularly at home to Man Utd. A couple of other clubs will be able to say similar. They will have harder away games as suddenly more of the top8 sides have got stronger ie ManC, West Ham, Villa etc.. Everton, Spurs and the Toon have mostly been difficult and unpredictable grounds to get results. The big 4 will start to suffer when the CL gets going and that is when we might see one fall away from the pack.

Rode your luck at times. Pompey just didn't make their good positions count, and gave three very sloppy goals away. Would have been very frustrating for a Pompey fan. The third goal was the worst, I think Mendez was looking behind him as the short free kick was taken. This AFC squad won't hold it together when their 3 games a week lark start. Awesome passing and movement from Arsenal today has to be said.

Saw that. Well played. Zat played well (another N.O. pyriah comes good). Reo MOM for me closely followed by Young.

Could turn a game on its head, Reo-Coker smiling. Anyone see his hat before kick-off? Who told him that looks good? He's just had a little kick at Malouda. He's enjoying himself. Malouda or Dogbreath to buy a pen if it stays like this.
