Exit from this competition will be the beginning of the end for Benny Benitez. blueyes.gif The def is good, but they just don't have enough 'real' creativity needed at this level in very tight games imo.
-
ManU will win this competition.

He played a fair few games at Ipswich in his youth at R/B. Could still do it but would probably refuse. Parker would be good there imo.

Erm, if you read the thread you'll see I posted it because most - if not all of it applies to us as well as City. I wanted to see what people thought of a player coming out and saying these things in public. You need one or two like him in yer team.
-
Good players should be able to play in 2/3 positions.
-
I would try and keep him.
-
On the button Gemma. And he is at that age where he needs to get his next move absolutely right.
-
Martins and Milner but I voted Martins.
-
First Zoggy now Dyer. We better have some good players coming in.

My thought, and it just an opinion, is that whilst the new TV money will reduce the overall percentage ratio, when the new players come in who are going to improve the squad, the percentage will start pushing back up again. Also, will Newcastle attract the right quality of players if there is no European competition? If the 'right' players won't sign, then will FFS start offering silly wages to get those players in with the hope that the improved squad will have European competition the following season. I tend to agree that the current situation looks a cause for concern rather than looking disastrous, but I also think that there is an significant element of risk if Newcastle's next season finishes without European competition as a prize. What I'm saying in a roundabout way is I think Newcastle's salary levels are sustainable without Uefa competition in the short term, but maybe for only one or two years. I agree. It is well know right at this moment Arsenal would have problems without CL. I think we are ok to miss out one year, but need to get back in asap.

Good post. Don't expect many to agree though. All we need is a left back.... mackems.gif Disagree. We need to sign a 3rd left winger. What happens if Zog has another because-hes-a-youngster dip in form, and Duff gets injured? Milner, Luque, Dyer, Emre, CANT play on the left wing, theyre not good enough even as backup. If the club has any ambition, it needs as many left wingers as possible to succeed. You obviously have no idea how immature and pathetic you come across in that post. It's an absolute classic. Well done for that anyway, you've given me a laugh on what has been a bad day for me. Why? We need more left wingers, especially if its a top left winger who is available. If Robben moves in the summer, we should snap him up. You need top wingers to win titles, not fullbacks. Babayaro and Huntington will suffice. Or can you not handle the truth?

While I still like him he is safe.

You're being silly now. I was just pointing out Martins shooting is a bit haywire. Not really, you were saying Martins shooting was shit according to a stat you found. I found a stat that shows his shooting was more accurate than one of the best strikers around at the moment or does me disagreeing make me "silly" ? You can only disagree with me as far as I let you disagree with me. At any moment I could take Martins down.

End of the day he has still put 17 goals away. Is this in your opinion not good enough for a lad who is playing for the first time in a new league in a shite team and he has just turned 22? If it was that would be rather harsh wouldn't it? Yeah harsh would probably be a good word, don't think I would stretch to stupid Don't underestimate yersel.

He's better than Roeder, there's no doubt about that. No doubt whatsoever Sven would be a quantum improvement...Whatever you say about the horny Swede he knows his football.

Outside the top 4/5 our league is pretty poor. Must be like christmas for the him coming from SerieA. Shots on target 36% Yeah cracking.

1. Amen 2.I've always supported the keeping of Emre and yes would rather get rid of Dyer....If it were possible. Not totally covinced by Emre's passing and his dead ball stuff is woeful. Perhaps with a better system and him further up the park. Parker right back. 3. Let's try the Owen and Martins and maybe look at it in Jan.

I just wondered what academy you were talking about that's all, the Clairefontaine academy is known throughout the World although I wasn't aware Henry and Anelka were there at the same time as Henry was snapped up very young by Monaco, Houllier took a lot of credit for the place iirc when he was technical director of the French fa. As for Anelka, he was a huge talent as a kid but has never reached the potential he showed when he was at Arsenal, if he had stayed there then he could well of went on to be one of the best strikers in the World but a poor attitude and dodgy brothersagents made sure he never got anywhere close to that, similar to Cassano he'll be remembered as someone who wasted his talent. Agree with some of that. But I think he is ready for his last throw of the dice (striker like Anelka is peaking now). And despite his brothers he is mentally now where he perhaps should have been 4/5 years ago, Sam has been very happy with his attitude. In the right side very dangerous. It is really a shame in some ways, coming from a very poor background money has rather taken over, but who's to say we'd be any different. The time in Turkey was a silly mistake. Fat Sam says he's happy with his attitude but didn't Anelka say a month or so back that if a CL team came in for him he'd leave? That's not really the sort of thing you want to hear from your record signing a few months after signing him, even if he thinks it it should remain private. I also don't agree with your assessment that Anelka is a better player now that he is playing as a withdrawn striker, having watched him at Man City I always found him a far deadlier player at the tip of a 4-5-1/4-3-3 formation, he got pushed out onto the right of a front 3 at Fenerbache and struggled in that position, he's done better at Bolton but not anywhere near as well as he played at Man City IMO. No I'd agree with that he was a better striker at Man City in the 451. I think he is more dangerous now because of his IMO better all round game and at home to Arsenal and as a gesture to Wenger he showed he still has that 'other' gear. I would really love him to get 3/4 years back in front of really appreciative supporters. I find him far more fascinating a character than that poodle Henry. Parky ya daft racist. It's a swipe at his character silly. Anelka would mullah him in a fight. blueyes.gif
