  1. The Lee appointment is a defensive move by Bolton...They know summat is up hence Gartside's sudden change of stance and hot air reg compensation (which they have no hope of getting btw). Sam might have been planning to take Lee at some point, but I don't believe Lee is that vital however good he might have become. It is more than likely that Sam won't reveal his hand till July. The setup at Bolton is almost taking care of itself. Almost 30 backroom staff compared to 3 when SA arrived tells its own story. Lee is going to keep things ticking over, and Gartside is hoping everyone can keep on doing what their doing without minimal disruption, he's already suggested Bolton don't need SA as much as people think. Sammy Lee wont bring anything fresh to the table, in fact the more he tries to stamp his mark the more likely he will fail. Given this is his 1st job Gartside is in charge of the budget, that including selling Anelka which is on the cards and Sammy will just have to do the best he can. But by not challenging the budget decisions in place Sammy can expect some leeway if there is a dip in form and position for at least the 1st season he is there. Speed i think was given the job as if SA did join the Toon he'd be the 1st off with his connections. Brown = Sammy Lee, neither are important, what is important is the setup of the club which is mind blowing compared to what we have now, and its that reason i'd like to see SA here, as that regime and setup should forever remain and maybe a more flamboyant manager can take advantage of in the future if SA underachieves. Good post TT. The tying up of Speed is another sign that Gartside is covering all bases.

  3. ....that he is some kind of jewel in Allardyces turban....? What is it based on? Seriously I'm interested...He's been part of the England set up for a while hasn't he?
  4. Where are you getting all this Sammy Lee stuff from?
  5. "Roeder doesn't lose dressing rooms, if Glenn Roeder needs to find another dressing room he will find one...G Roeder will never use the not finding of dressing rooms as an excuse."
  6. I'm gonna have to pick you up on this, I'm afraid. This business of Roeder rebuilding the club, scouting network, and youth development. This is a man who has lost a first team coach and a fitness coach this season (neither have been replaced) and who is getting by in their stead with a coaching team that includes Lee Clark and Terry McDermott. This is a man who when invited by Boca Juniors to come and run the rule over some of their young talent, opted to send Lee Clark. I wouldn't send Lee Clark to read their fucking meter. I have a horrible feeling that Glenn Roeder's ideas of a professional setup for NUFC are a million miles away from your average intelligent human being's. Old G72 loves the Glenda though.... blueyes.gif
  7. What have you been doing with them up to now? Not eating them I hope......
  8. It' s not beyond the realms of poss that he knows someone who works at Reading on match days.
  9. Can we for once thing positive things before a game.
  10. The result is more important than how Owen plays. The main thing is that he gets throught the game and gets some of his match confidence and sharpness back. Personally I wouldn't have started him.
  11. Parky

    Charles or Giles ?

Agree with most of that and don't really buy all this attitude problem Roeder and his cronies are spinning.
  12. All weather? ACG All conditions gear. *Had to google it.
  13. There isn't a shred of evidence Roeder is even alive never mind a football manager.
  14. Allardyce has been there 8 years and his net spend is less than what we paid for Babayaro! What has he ever won? What did Shearer win in his career? Did it equal his ability as a player? He won the Premiership Title with Blackburn. Is the correct answer. mackems.gif So he has less to show than someone like Phil Neville? Yes pissing myself too! Phil Neville is a very under rated and versatile team player. Can and has played right across the back 4 and as a holding player in midfield to very good effect. Different type of player to Shearer, but still a vital cog in a team. Arguement about winning stuff is about as manager not as player. My arguement is that Allardyce is touted as being the right man to appoint to acheive success for us when he hasn't acheived success (in terms of trophies) for anyone else and therefore in that respect has no better credentials than Roeder has. Quite a blinkered view though don't you think? How long was McLaren manager at Middlesborough? He won more trophies in his stint there than SBR did with us. Allardyce has built Bolton into a very good squad who know how to play against the best teams in the league, have great fitness and training programmes and thanks to him are around European qualification places. All without really spending anything. Roeder has got what? 3 team relegated and hasn't been in his jobs long enough to build anything at all. Just because both haven't won anything its stupid to say that makes them the same! Never said they were both the same, just stating a fact that Allardyce has never won anything and therefore has the same credentials as Roeder who also has never won anything. Given time and patience to build a team Roeder may prove himself with us (i don't think he'll get time and i don't think he's capable either even if he did) or he may crash and burn, who knows? Allardyce might come here, be given oodles of cash to spend and waste it on shite and also crash and burn. No no no no no. Not getting into an arguement on his suitability, but I can't let that slide. Roeder has been involved in 3 relegations, Sam got Limerick promoted as player/manager, Blackpool to their highest ever position and playoffs, got promotion with Notts County and taken Bolton from relegation fodder to promotion to the Prem, and established in the top half. Forget winning trophies, one seems to habitually do well while the other does almost the opposite, so no, not particularly comparable at all. Managers don't win things teams do. They can only guide and about another 1000 things have to fall into place and the stars have to be correctly aligned. It's silly all this debating about CV's and shit.
  15. I thought this Shearer interview thing was common knowledge. I can see him now with his head slightly lowered and his supressed smile. Sam must have been livid.
  16. We should have been making a lot more use of that while he was here though. Although it's very clear that set pieces and tactics and the like are not something we waste our time with in training. Big Sam clearly loves big men. He will strain his neck training our lot. Tone lowered.

  18. At this point it needs to be made clear that Parky Industries decline to comment in matters concering Mr Allardyce. We will release a statement pertaining to the media speculation regarding our corporate footprint and its perceived stance on Mr Allardyce in due course.
