Too right. As much as he's our best player, he's also a total liability. Every man and his dog knows his fuse is shorter than a gnat's nob, and the Ukrainians will doubtlessly do their level best to wind him up.
-
This. Johnson has been crap, and he needs all the help he can get shoring up his side of the pitch. Walcott will come on as a sub and scare the shit out of the Ukrainians.
-
Yup. Visualisation is a very powerful technique. A study found that visualisation can be more effective than additional physical training.

First England game I've enjoyed in a while, watching with Germans, like. Good stuff, all in all. A German footie mag said the game was "as beautiful as a drunken woman at four in the morning when you're even drunker."

Fuck! Yeah it does Edit: Done

The forum would have imploded like a black hole. On the other hand, if there had been such a rule in place, you'd all now be able to say sagely, "I knew he was the right man for the job."

Sorry. Tongue-in-cheek doesn't always survive transcription to text. A wink would have helped

Then you are stopped from posting, i know you might say i'm splitting hairs but i dont think so. Its a pathetic way to run a blog, adhere to the rules such as the ones on here and 99% of other blogs yes, but to have to follow strict rules on what you can post, especially when what you post is what you think, involves no swearing, libel or legal problems etc. Its just a mental, mental deranged site, rather like Liverpool the club who you may just have got the gist that i hate more than Mrs bimpy. I'm getting the distinct impression that your dislike for Liverpool is colouring your view somewhat Sure, the moderation on here is laxer than on RAWK, but it's laxer on RAWK than a lot of other forums (CFCnet springs to mind). They're the RAWK mods, it's their forum, and they get to make the rules. Agree with them or not, they're consistent about locking threads that are critical but not constructive. By and large, they're just trying to run a forum, and posters who consistently cause the mods work by shit-stirring and filling the forum with crap will eventually run into the banhammer. Like I said, RAWK's a much bigger forum than N-O, and it's a lot more work trying to keep an eye on a few dozen idiots than two or three. That said, they didn't exactly cover themselves in glory with the whole Kenny and Suarez RAWK business. That was all very 1984. Oh we have a bigger forum. Pathetic. Yeah, cos that's what I was saying

After being warned, yes.

We aren't stopped from posting at all. We just aren't allowed to go on and on about what a disappointing signing Rodgers is. On the other hand, we can post all the fixture lists we like
-
I agree, but that's something everyone knows and it doesn't serve any useful purpose to have a dozen posters repeating it in every thread, turning everything into an anti-Rogers circle jerk and adding nothing to the discussion. At least not before a ball has been kicked or a transfer done.

Egomania is running wild. It is extremely draconian, but it cuts down somewhat on the amount of vapid bleating there'd otherwise be. RAWK has 20 times more members than this board, and there are 20 times more broken records, too. The whole criticise-Kenny-and-we'll-ban-you thing was way over the top, but this I can understand. A load of moaning about a manager before he's even got a single game under his belt is at best pointless background noise, at worse tedious and a bit embarrassing.
-
Really? Fuck it. I'm going up regardless of who reaches the final. Like a bit of the 'Dam now and again.
-
Definitely. But to do so, at some point you'll have to start prioritising UEFA games over league games. That might be risky.
-
I fucking hope not. Don't want that twat back at Anfield.

The hatred on here for Owen makes me titter. I mean, he was injured a lot through no fault of his own, other than being made from glass, which was known when the club signed him. As was the nature of the beast (loves England, England and horses). IMO, it should be that pillock Shepherd who should be copping all the stick for paying silly money for a known glass cunt in the first place. Owen was a much better player than he gets credit for on here, though he was much diminished by his loss of pace and balls after his hamstring tear. He just wasn't worth anywhere near what that tit Shepherd spunked on him.
-
That depends which cup and which league position you're talking about. I think a lot of us would happily swap for fourth place.

If we can have the cash difference in what we paid for our respective squads, too, I'll pull the team bus to Anfield myself.
-
If the choice were between fifth and the League Cup, I'd take the cup. If it were fourth place, I'd take fourth. Not year after year, but in any given season. Qualifying for the CL gives you the cash and pulling power to push forward. On the other hand, it's a much bigger distraction from the league than other competitions.

Ahhh you just carry on with this line of thinking, it warms me to my tootsies, i also get a bit of a semi whenever a Liverpool fan says KKK is the right man, hahahaha lovely. And you enjoy your delusion. Disaster? That's what's happening to Rangers. How long he can keep it up will depend on whether he can stay fit. These days, he's in and out of the side and rarely makes it to match fitness before he's out again. We don't have anyone coming through who's anywhere near as good as Gerrard was in his prime. But not many do. I don't think I've ever seen a player like Gerrard. If only he'd had a brain and some tactical awareness, he could have been one of the very best English players ever.
-
No, you just like to think it's been a disaster because that's more entertaining for you. The bottom line is, we're going to finish this season with at least one trophy. Is it good enough in face of what we've spent? No. But it's more than 17 of the other clubs in the league will manage this season.
-
Nobody said it was "irrelevant". All I said was that when you're outside the league positions that mean something (winning, Euro qualification, relegation zone), a few places one way or the other don't mean that much. Not as much as an actual trophy, at any rate. And no, it hasn't been a "disaster". Relegation or bankruptcy would be a disaster. If all the half-decent players in the squad put in transfer requests, it would be a disaster. It's just been shitty. FA Cup win would make it less shitty.
-
Don't blame you. In your place, I wouldn't either.
