  1. pretty much agree with this - should never have been appointed, not Premiership class - simple as.
  2. long term planing, modern training methods, good transfer record, gets the best out of players and a proven track record - Makes total sense really!
  3. Just seen Terry Mac looking confused - he's on a good thing - what does he get paid to do!!
  4. when there was speculation last week about Dyer being a target for Spuds, Alan Brazil on Talksport was pissing himself laughing that Dyer was on nearly half a million quid a month (£350K) - true though, that's an obscene amount for someone who has only occasionally delivered - good old Souness and FF.
  5. If Sam took over, can't see any reason why he'd do that TBH.
  6. nice bloke but should have gone back to his day job - not able to do the job to the standards we expect - guilty!
  7. You can edit whatever you want on the PS2 version. The edit function isn't really in the 360 version at all. Cheers Dave
  8. how does he get the Newcastle strip looking like that? on the 360 version it's rubbish.
  9. so how many player have we BOUGHT in the last 2 windows - just Duff for £5M isn't it. Still at least there'll be extra money for the shareholders >
  10. Going over old ground I know, but this is gross mis-management. If we put all our eggs in one basket to sign Owen even though it left us short, the person who sanctioned that should go. We have the situation where so called lesser teams are buying players left right and centre and we bring in one loan signing despite being desperately short of players. It's also farcial that we are having to field half a first team made up of kids whilst an expensive crock sits at home. Frankly we didn't have the financial clout to buy Owen we should have bought within our means and spent modestly to improve the whole team rather than put all our eggs in one, injury prone, basket. This is no way a pop at Owen, but the purchase of him was irresponsible to say the least. Roll on the summer window, we'll be promised all sorts, but end up with excuses.
  11. SSN has just reported that Roeder has said there will be no further activity by Newcastle in this transfer window. Bollocks, it beggars belief!
  12. FF has wasted money on trophy signings and paid well over the odd for certain players. Instead that money should've been used wisely to build a team. It's like a someone winning the lottery and spending it all on a Rolls Royce, rather than buying a house - gotta get the basics right first before you start going to the next level. Off topic a little but isn't it a little ironic that Sir Bobby was building a team for the future and bought young. Then Sourness said he wanted a team of men like in the old Liverpool days (moustaches optional) and now Roeder is back to buying young. If onlt FF didn't appoint Souness, things would've been very different - for the better, no doubt.
  13. cheers lads - thinking more about permanent transfers.
  14. Reading on the other thread about the possible availability of Hughes at Villa it got me thinking about which players have left then returned. The ones that spring to mind are: Terry Hibbitt Beardo Elliott Clarke Nobby Pav Bernard Any more?
  15. to be fair , as much as I hate Man U, Fergie has always been willing to give credit where it's due and admit when his team's been second best, unlike others who'll just make excuses. He also always seems to have a soft spot for us too. Would've been a great manager for us.
  16. To his credit Fergie was full of praise for Newcastle. You wouldn't get that from Wenger, he'd just blame something or other.
  17. God bless him - he's one in a million and a class apart
