  1. Thank fuck we signed him permanently. Like that means anything at all.
  2. That'll be because in the kingdom of the blind the one-twitchy-eyed man is King.
  3. How many of those clubs owners would have thought ahead and had a plan in place? All of them. The club can't win really, can they. Imagine the shit-storm if they'd have had a replacement seemingly lined up. Aye....
  4. I'd think they're most likely a bit wary of having spent £35M on a relatively unproven player rather than actually livid.
  5. And they've got Carroll too.
  6. Personally, I'm keen to find out from the horse's mouth what really motivated him to leave Newcastle. I can't help thinking there's a lot more to this that we don't know about (concerning his personal circumstances) that will have combined with the chance to make big bucks with a club that has in recent years had a great deal more success than we have. Only then will I know how I really feel about this situation. Others have already got him hung, drawn and quartered as a Judas to the cause. Thing is, you don't know what else may have been at play here, other than money obviously...
  7. Agree 100% The worry is that we've got no sign of a credible replacement lined up though. That's my main worry with this.
  8. Honestly, Dave, I think we're entering into the endgame now. Football is one industry where the bubble has still yet to burst. I thought it would have burst around the time of the credit crunch, but actually of course the people funding this bubble are so endlessly rich that there is seemingly no limit to it - other than their own boredom threshold. But when you get to the point of a club spending £35M+ on a young player who has yet to play in major CL or World Cup level games, it just debases the whole game.
  9. Not really...looks like it contributed to his record-breaking transfer price.
  10. Exactly. Surprised so many people on here failed to read the signals from that one.
  11. Can't stop laughing at people on here judging and castigating Carroll so quickly. From hero to zero in the blink of an eye. Everything's not all black and white.
  12. So, not being one who bets a whole lot, I wouldn't really understand this sort of thing, but is there money to be made from speculating on the transfer market so that by rejecting the first offer and then the second offer increases the odds and thereafter the amount of money to be made?
  13. Wonder why it was rejected? Was it a desire to do what fans want for once? Or was it the rash of death threat related groups that erupted on Facebook in the past three hours?
  14. It is still possible to make loan signings after the deadline, right?
  15. He'd probably only do that if he was going to sign for Liverpool too.
  16. Are we skint like? I'm trying to see it through his eyes, not through mine. Read the full post I made not just the first sentence.
  17. To be fair, £30M+ is just not something Mike Ashley can afford to ignore. Kenny Dalglish is a fucking nutcase, though. 18 months ago, neither Andy Carroll nor Charlie Adam were particularly highly rated. Now that they've both had a remarkably good first half of this season, and now he's splurging £47M onb the pair fo them, by the looks of things...
