Man City bid for Terry turned down.

Lyon deny they have agreed to sell Benzema.

Skysports.com understands Ipswich are closing in on the signing of QPR defender Damien Delaney.

SSN just said Real have so far spent a quarter of a billion euros on players. Bet we don't hear any complaints from Sepp Blatter or Platini over Madrid's spending, no where near the criticism if it was an English club.

I dunno, he might turn out to be just what they need, a cog in the machine rather than a superstar. Fergie is a master of making a team more than a sum of its parts... he's made Darren Fletcher, Ji Sung Park and Wes Brown into part of the best team in the world (or maybe 2nd best!). He just needs to make sure he gets other players in who will provide the goals that Ronaldo leaving will take away. I like Valencia though, sure he'll do well. My thinking too. People will say he is Ronaldos replacement due to the position he plays although Man Utd will be looking elsewhere to replace the goals, assists and flair they have lost. Mainly the centre of midfield were they were shown up by Barcelona last season.

Marca saying that Benzema will sign for Madrid within the next few hours.

Good point, although the bidders could have told Harris.

Source? Good signing if played in his right position. Multiple mutterings down here. Someone apparently to be unveilied tomorrow also, which, being July 1st and free agent day makes me a bit worried about Sol Campbell's future plans. Or Mickey Owen.

Kevin Doyle signs for Wolves £6.5 million.
-
The reports are still saying that he will be the lead figure of a consortium which would mean he isn't in full control of the club.
-
Earliest news will be tomorrow if Shearer is going to that meeting in London.

Because he'd prefer Santa Cruz and money is no object? bizarre one, though. don't you agree? adebayor is better than santa cruz, yet martins can be potentially better than them both for a little less. Or he could actually spend the money on someone worth it. No suggestions but with the money City have they could do alot better.

Bolton to sign Sean Davis from Pompey on a free. These must be the type of players Megson wanted to make Bolton play attractive football.
-
Arsenal sign Vermaelen. Fulham close to signing Scharner.
-
What type of contract will Shearer sign then? Surely he wont be given a a four year deal or whatever until he has actually spoken to whoever our new owners will be?

Yeah, as i understood it the groups were only given access to the data room once they'd proved they had the necessary funds. All 4 groups are studying the books so they must've met the financial criteria Yeah but if they don't have funds to push us on it'll be like buying an AT-AT but having no money left to buy storm troopers It may mean they have set aside a transfer budget already, but if our finances are in such a mess that all there money will be used on our debts, then they will pull out.
-
There not that far behind Villa and Everton, and they finished higher up than City. These four will be the group outside the top four, just depends on who they sign and if Man City sack Hughes in time for a good manager to have a good affect.
-
The Journal actually says that the four groups trying to buy us have proved they have the 100 million pound to buy the club, but if our finances are a mess then they dont have the funds to bankroll us.

No great loss, average at best and was awful at Villa park.
