  1. Surprised Keegan wasn't in attendance. Although they may have had some misunderstanding the way KK was dropped from SBR's first England squad, surely all that would have been buried in the past.

All other living England Managers except Keegan turned up. Strange  ???

  2. If we are playing two up top I would start Carroll if not I would start Ranger.

Ranger holds the ball up and waits for support where as Carroll is the beast who wins everything in the air but the chances of our midfield running on to his flicks are (unlike one of them) slim to none!

Hopefully he can work up a partnership with Loverboy. Flick ons + intelligence + pace + accurate shooting = GOALS  :celb:

  3. Saying on SSN, the local press guys reckon he knocked back Newcastle contracts twice and was holding out for a better deal elsewhere. Hmmm

Press stirring up s**t again. Of course he was holding out for a better offer. But all is forgiven. Any news on term of contract?

  4. Why couldnt Keegan communicate his issues with the fans then, i dont see what he had to lose if he was prepared to leave the club anyway.

    compensation?

What if the new owners appoint KK for a 3rd time and saves 8million quid as they will not need to pay him the compensation. Win Win for both

  5. There's a chance too that the impressive attendances will have helped to convince investors.

Initially I thought the strong support would go against us as it makes Ashley have 2nd thoughts about selling. but looks like others may have been attracted too and this is definitely exciting

All summer there were fears that fans would stay away, making us an even bigger loss-making machine. Even with all this going on and no investment, we've shown that 40,000+ crowds are pretty much a given for 21 more home games. If a takeover happens that will only increase.

  6. If only the Yanks had come in earlier. Wondering why they left it to this late if they were serious. Makes them sound more promising than Moat's offer as they have more dosh and a proper business plan

  7. My mate is Shearer's cleaner and when he went in today he said there was a CV and covering letter addressed to Mike Ashley, so he also thinks this could happen this Wednesday.

Did Shearer remember to attach his nice passport photo on the CV?

  8. I actually really like listening to Ginola from what I've seen of him on TV recently. He talks a lot of sense and with a real passion.

Can't find the interview anywhere. What did Daveed say?

  9.

It should, but mentality just isn't there. Seems like a few people are posting rumours that Barton had a huffy yesterday and hasn't travelled. If that is the case do we play Shola and sacrifice the system practiced in training, or do we play Geremi?

Clutching at straws here  but could it be a case of Shearer returning next week and Barton has been told in no uncertain terms that AS still holds it against him so he stormed out of training  :crazy2:

  10. Does this group from Dubai have a name Thomo? might search into them and see what their all about.

Give Thomo a break. Think he said he has shared all that he knows. I'm sure he will keep us posted now that he has started

  11. Thanks for sharing the news, Thomo. No one here knows any better and we certaintly hope this is finally happening. Not to bothered if its DIC, IDC, CID or ABC as long as they have some long term plans and the dosh to back it up without interfering with the footie side of things too much

  12. We are a sad lot  . The slightest rumour and we get all excited. Hope Thomo is right as we can only take so much mucking around by MA.

if the sale finally happens, let's look at this as a sign of blessing from Sir Bobby from above and with the feeling of goodwill generated by his passing, the new owners and manager will start off on the crest of a wave....

  13. Movement of players out of club may be another sign something is imminent. All through the earlier rumours, no one was allowed to leave on loan, let alone being sold. May not be money bags Arabs taking over since they can easily afford Oba's wages unless this has been sanctioned by new manager in waiting.

  14. We all wanted Shearer to learn his trade in the lower leagues and prove himself before taking on Newcastle in the Premiership. Well, circumstances have come together now and we can kill the two proverbial birds with one stone now.

Shearer to prove to his doubters in the Championship and lead us back to the Premiership  :clap2:

  15. Maybe we should protest outside the ground and demand the apointment of Shearer or some info.? :tickedoff:

This will be seen as a Militant act and will frighten off any potential investor.

  16. I wonder which billionaire from Malaysia the papers will claim is involved next?

Take your pick from Forbes 2008 List of Richest Malaysians...Take away the Top 5 and the rest are only average billionaires. Akin to Fat Ashley when he started. Some of their wealth may have also come down substantially with the crisis....
