Is Cattermole the only player in world football that still tucks in his shirt ?
  2. Cheeky? You might as well have given it to some homeless Mackem. If they win it'll be 2-1, it won't be any more. If they don't win, even draw I'm delighted. Shame I spunk end a fiver on them winning 1-0 at the start of the game, done in 8mins. They'll be happy to come away from the christmas period with 4pts from 6 though if they draw, from a tough looking couple of fixtures away from home. That'll give them a lift, need them to get beat, to keep their spirits low.
  3. Who the fuck is he crossing that too. Idiot should be shooting.

Are the points tallies really any different to other seasons? Seems like there are a lot of teams down there with a low tally, which makes it easier to get out of it. I don't know, just a blind comment made without looking at any stats. There certainly though seems to be a lot of crap teams this year. Stoke City were in the top half of the table until this morning ffs
  5. They looked awful for the first 25 minutes or so tbf, been all them since then though. It hasn't been all them though, They have created one decent chance that hasn't came from a long range hit and hope shot. Nope, wrong. They've had all the pressure for 20 minutes and have forced multiple chances. They were useless before that as I say. The Borini chance was the only chance they created that wasn't the result of a long range shot, even Jozy's miss initially came about from a long range show which ended up sitting nicely for him to miss. Hardly long range, the shot came inside the 18 yard box from Ki (I was going to make a comment deriding the fact the the Mackems are loaning a player from mighty Swansea, and he's been arguably their best player this season, then I remebered our top scorerer belongs to QP fucking R, lol )

They'll get out of it. Can't see them not overtaking some of the rubbish down there. When I've watched them this year, they've not been the worst team I've seen. Crystal Palace were as bad a PL team I've seen, Fulham were horrendous early on at SJP before we had even hit our groove, Cardiff themselves I thought were awful.
  7. Just switched this on for the last 20 mins or so. Sunderland mighty unlucky to be behind. Unfortunately they look more than capable of getting out of this mess. They are looking quite decent tbh, how Borini doesn't play every week for them is crazy.
  8. I think it is funny that most of the clamoring for this comes from people who weren't old enough to remember standing areas prior to the current rules. Those areas were terrible, shitholes, and just not pleasant at all. If anyone would rather have the old leaves end back again, they are freakin crazy. On big games too, when things got busy, standing in that melee of humanity was just not fun, especially on hot days, the gallowgate corner and scoreboard areas full of a lot of undesirables, you often felt for your safety. I remember almost passing out during the 7-1 leicester, last game on the promotion season. There were just too many people. I know these new seating areas will be far removed for those old one, and regulations will be tighter on numbers, but to be honest I have very little desire to see them return, having said that my match going days are long gone now so my opinion means fuck all.
  9. You can't make a statement, that Stoke were Clearly the better side before the sendings off, based on just watching highlights. I watched the whole game and they were not, it was a nothing game which they were edging with a great goal, outside of that they created nothing of any worth, as did we, just a few long shots from either team. Possession was even and territory probably belonged to us on a whole for that period.

Wow I had us at at 8 pre season, what a fucking idiot I am
  11. Probably Iron Mike's handball too but you are right in what you are saying Find this argument ridiculous as well, unless our players are running about in a poor comparison to riverdance then their arms just might move around a bit. Pretty sure he was just moving rather than trying to stop a player getting the ball past him 30 yards or whatever out I agree it was ball to hand, certainly not hand ball however I can understand some frustration here because those outside the area seem to more often than not be given. No guarantee however that they wouldn't have shipped the other four goals the conceded if that had been given their way.
  12. after 40mins, with both teams full strength i'd have been happy to get a draw. I wouldn't, they had what? 3 shots on target the entire game? I was absolutely confident we could get a win and it isn't luck their players stupidly got sent off. They cheated, we beat them by a big margin and could have absolutely stuffed them. yes they were stupid in getting sent off and they should have no complaints about them, at 11 v 11 though they looked better and their goal was coming. Sorry can't agree, we obviously looked better as their players were sent off but apart from a couple of Charlie Adam hopeful strikes they didn't look remotely dangerous. We failed to get enough players in the box but this was looking like the typical game where Remy/Gouffran/Ben Arfa/Cabaye/Anita would grab a goal or two and we would win. Stoke were showing very little. We did very little in that first half either. Just for the sake of argument if it stayed as it was after the 0-1 then we had a f***ing long day ahead of us. We did the business though against a poor opponent, nothing to complain about really. Next game I want to see us build on this, should be riding a high and full of confidence. I just finished watching the game, got to say I was a little bit surprised by the commentary from Davie Provan and what I read on the board here about the game prior to the sending off. I was expecting to see a Stoke team controlling the game. But that was not the case, a few long shots was all they mustered outside of the good goal they scored. They were far from being "in control" of the game, as was being reported. As the home team we clearly weren't doing enough and the onus is obviously on us, but in all honesty it was a nothing game up until Whelan's stupidity.
  13. It's interesting because when I listen to my boss, that's exactly the attitude I hear from him. They never get the breaks, they are consistently the better team, they should score from every chance they make. The goals they conceed are either down to the ref missing something, against the run of play or because they failed to do something. If you listen to him, you would seriously think that they should really win the league every year.
  14. Got to be impressed with Liverpool, Gerrard getting injured may have been the best thing to happen to them. Deservedly led the table at Christmas, if they go back tot he top tonight, they thoroughly deserve it.
  15. LOL, it's the Newcastle Fans view of the game apparently My Boss is a Stoke fan, so I have to get my facts straight wwhen he starts moaning at the ref, hehe
  16. The stoke fans are quoting this, I haven't seen the game but this NUFC fan seems to be siding with them instead of you guys, in saying it was the ref that won the game for us. http://www.nufcblog.com/2013/12/26/magpies-demolish-9-man-stoke-city-5-1/ The Stoke fans love this
  17. here: http://oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/224076/newcastle-stoke-city-match-thread?page=13 They are going crazy at the ref, our players dived all day, blatant handball missed for the equaliser and Geordies = Classless fans, lol
  18. The stoke fans think Atkinson should be shot or at least never referee again in the pl. They don't agree either was a sending off. http://oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/224076/newcastle-stoke-city-match-thread?page=7
  19. if we don't win this now, pardew and the players should be shot, got to keep ball though make sure we don't give the ref a chance to even things up a bit here.
  20. what happen, for those not watching the game this is confusing
  21. Wow, all results going against us right now, bad bad day so far.
