  1. It's in the best interests for Darlow to move on, if we do the sensible thing and make Dubravka the first signing of the the summer then, barring an injury to Dubravka he's not getting any game time. For his own career he should move on and look to establish himself somewhere. The club however could see it differently, he's an experienced keeper that you can bring in for a game or two. They've been reluctant, rightly so, to go into a situation where they only have 2 senior keepers available. Darlow is with us and probably getting paid a reasonably team friendly amount for the role he plays. The two most important things we do in the summer from a keeping perspective I feel are, #1 get Dubravka in and #2 Succession plan for his eventual replacement better, i.e. get Woodman a decent loan move. What happens to Sels, Darlow and Elliot is less of a pressing matter, but obviously five senior goal keepers is too much.

Yes I think that's it's origin, I remember Chris Evert looking particularly hot in their gear back in the day, not a patch on how well this guy is rocking the brand name however

Forgot about him Has he done anything of note there? I thought I read that Milan had an obligation to buy him. Mackems seem convinced he's already as good as gone. Khazari has had a decent season in France apparently, so he'll get a move, Lens I think was out of contract in the summer as well, so he's gone. But they are still left with a lot of high earners, way too high for L1 levels, Rodwell, Cattermole,Kone, Djibodjiwhatever, Ndong, Oviedo, McNair and a few others. They don't make nearly enough through the gate to pay those wages, you would assume that's where next year's parachute payment will go.

I guess the fun had to end at some point, the biggest win here for them is the debt wipe out, that'll secure their short term future. They should bounce straight back up now. Long term is where they are going to have issues because they'll need to find some means to generate funds that will allow them first build a team that can compete in the championship and not rebound back to L1, then build a team capable of challenging for promotion. I wonder what happens to the parachute payments, and the sales they'll make from Borini, Khaziri and probably Kone and NDong. The best hope if this group is as financially insolvent as would appear is that their plan is to get them back in the champo and sell to another buyer with the clout to get them back in the PL. It takes a lot of investment now to get promoted, look at how much Wolves spent and Villa who may not even make it. Their base is now extremely low now, that'll take a great deal of luck thorugh their academy or a whole lot of investment to be able to compete with the teams that will be relegated from the prem in 2019.
  5. I wouldn't be upset if the mackems win this, don't want Fulham in the automatic spot.
  6. That is beautiful, loved the original one, this is a great modern take on it.
  7. I have noticed a pattern with Puma, one year there is more black in the kit the next year white is the more dominant colour. Can believe the rumours here.
  8. The bib one is by far and away the worst one from Puma, the ones with the little spikes on the lines was another terrible effort. Liked the last two offerings a lot though. From addidas, that one above with the shield on the back was rank. The Barcode from umbro was horrendous, dunno what you lot are thinking, it's only appealing because of the history of it.
  9. Insane isn't it, unless they don't have retrospective action in the football league. I know we got Dummett and Shelvey's red cards pulled back in the Forest game, surely it works in reverse too ?
  10. Surely Liverpool must be favourites on current form ? They've got to get past Roma first, Barca will tell them being 3 up is no guarantee and we are talking about Real in the champs league final, they always find a way.

I'm literally crying with laughter at that, thanks for sharing, that's golden.
  12. Another Real Champs League then, doubt Liverpool or Roma will put up much of a fight either.

Any time you feel the remotest bit of sympathy for, just remind yourself how they've conducted themselves in the preceding years. Personally I wouldn't shed a tear if they went out of business never to return again.
  14. Crap I really don't want a Wolves, Fulham, Villa promotion trio. I know folks say that we shouldn't care because Rafa won't be here if he's not backed and that if he's backed then we won't be in a relegation fight. But if he's not backed and someone else comes in, call me mad but I will still want us to stay in the PL, having three weaker teams in there would help with that. We've got an excellent record against Cardiff, a crap one against Fulham, I know which one I would rather go up. Villa will win the playoff it's almost a guarantee with Bruce, it's what he does.

They talk about how Ellis has ruined them and really it's all down to him. But is it ? He sold their best player, loaned out a few others. Gave the manager 1.25 million to spend. That's all bad form. But their base should have been way stronger than the likes of Barnsley, Bolton, Millwall and Burton, along with the bulk of the rest of that division. Those others teams that made up the bottom half of that league were not spending money in shed loads either. No way they should have been relegated again, with a half decent manager. Grayson had the team under performing but Coleman had since November to get them out of the mess, in the end getting out wouldn't have required a huge lift in form looking at the points totals at the bottom this year. Coleman has done a pretty terrible job, his January signings were awful, he's not motivated the current squad enough. I really hope they stick with him for next season, because the man is hopeless.
  16. Pardew is done, even Ashley isn't going to risk the club's PL status to him, after CP and WBA. I would not be shocked however if another former manager is appointed to take his place, if Rafa leaves and assuming he is sacked from his current job on Merseyside.
  17. To move forward as a club we are going to need to sell him and either see a huge change in Rafa's opinion on Mitro or sell him also. Selling them both nets you 30 million or so I would wager, that's six Joselu's.
  18. The top and bottom of it is that he's simply not selling the club. Let's hope he doesn't use this uncertainty as an excuse to not invest, because if he does, Rafa is gone.

  20. Under Mike Ashley we are not paying money for 29 year olds, that's what has me worried about Dubravka, that deal should have been made permanent already in my view.

It's probably the crux of the problem in terms of selling the club. If I'm a buyer, I'm not paying 130 million or so for a L1 club, which is what paying nothing for it equates to based on the financials of over a year ago. That's also an interesting issue. They've spent nothing , and raked in a decent wedge for Pickford, surely some of that external debt has been paid off. So it might not be as bad as is being reported right now. They could use the TV money they got in their last (hopefully final) year in the PL, this year's parachute payment and next year's, to easily pay off that external debt. If Short is willing to cover the wages and other costs by supplementing the pathetic gate receipts and merchandising sales, they can be external debt free. That would significantly increase internal debt to Short of course, but it's an easier negotiation. What is a fair price to pay for a L1 club that has the potential to get back to the promised land of the PL eventually, with a large stadium and by all accounts a decent training complex ? 50 million ?
