  1. Ah, I see. Cheers This transfer saga was all kinds of levels of crazy to me. I cannot believe Man United have bought 3 forward players for around £200 million this summer before even looking at their central midfield options. And to top it off the striker they have opted for is another young guy with promise that will have to come in and lead the line from the outset, with a ton of pressure on his back. I think these guys are absolutely bat shit crazy! Think they've gone with a very risky approach this summer, and this is a team I will take immense pleasure in rooting against this season, along with their new striker. Then there's Benjamin Sesko. Off to Man United following after a similarly aged and similarly priced promising prospect at striker that has become a source of ridicule at Man United due to how badly he's been managed, and who was just in the last game kicking the post angrily and raging yet again, because of his frustration at not getting the ball played to him in a goal scoring position. This club has so far this summer failed to move on 4 players still in their 20s in Rashford, Sancho, Antony and Garnacho that they have completely mismanaged and whose prospects they have ruined to varying degrees, some of whom they spent even more on to buy than what they are spending on Sesko! Benjamin Sesko you are batshit crazy! Last of all is Newcastle United. You mean to tell me that all of those reports that Sesko had a preference to go to Man United that we saw written about, tweeted about and stated on camera seemingly every hour of every single day for the past week, have actually turned out to be legitimate and true? And Newcastle United were not able to get any sense of this in their negotiations with the player, and just kept on pushing forward with things naively?! Newcastle United you are batshit crazy! Oh well ... we now have to move on form this quickly. Hopefully there are other plans in place and we can do a better job. These so called "big clubs" cannot buy everybody. Even if by accident, eventually we will have to close some deals. Ultimately, I am VERY glad this one is over. Hope any further approaches for players are nowhere near as tedious!
  2. So what's the latest on this? Leipzig have accepted the Man Utd bid? And Sesko has chosen to go to them?
  3. Honestly, I can't wait to see where this goes. I'm finding this noise from the Man Utd side very weird. Are they doing this to make their support think they are active? I just don't know? Just before Arsenal sealed the Gyokeres deal there was noise about Man Utd coming in late. Just before Liverpool sealed the Ekitike deal there was noise about Man Utd coming in late. When Liverpool bid for Isak they were inserted into that conversation as though they had any kind of chance of getting him. Now here we are again ... we're putting in bids to match what Leipzig want and trying to get the structure right, and there's all this noise about how he prefers Man Utd and then they finally bid and it's less than what we did! This is crazy.
  4. I will be very surprised and accept I was wrong. As of now I'm very suspicious. If he's so sold on them why so much noise? Just get the deal done? Why keep telling everyone? This is so bizarre.
  5. Yet more noise from Man Utd. Again we're being told Sesko only wants them. Over and over and over again. It's so blatant it's actually laughable. It's almost like they're gearing up to put the blame on Leipzig for forcing him to go elsewhere, because the other club was desperate and just threw more money at them.
  6. Can no one else see how comical this is?! This is some kind of propaganda being pushed out man Is this really what they're spending the money saved from sacking people on?!
  7. Wasn't it reported today that he had agreed personal terms with both clubs?! The only thing we have not seen reported going all the way back to last year with Arsenal and up to now, is any kind of agreement with Leipzig. Sesko is open to staying at Leipzig and so Leipzig are pushing to get exactly what they want from interested clubs. Agreeing with Leipzig is the key to closing this deal IMO. It's why I'm not yet convinced that Man United are actually in this race. Their bid was lower, with less money upfront, and seemed a token gesture. I may be wrong though, but that's how I'm reading all of this.
  8. Leipzig still haven't accepted any of the bids that have been lodged! Going all the way back to last year's Arsenal bids! This is a Leipzig issue. Until they are happy and accept a bid, Sesko is not going anywhere.
  9. The constant harping on about his preference for Man Utd by every journo on camera and in every single tweet and article, has been so excessive and cartoonish that I am fully inclined to believe it is some sort of ruse. This whole thing has been so utterly ridiculous and farcical I can only laugh at this point If all this just turns out to be some operation to save face by Man United and they don't actually follow through with a competitive bid and complete the signing, that would be so incredibly pitiful. I noticed our latest bid still didn't include a sell on clause. I wonder if that is still a sticking point on this.
  10. What on Earth has gone on with this today?! Man United actually bid for him?! My God! When was the deadline we set? Have either of these bids been accepted?! Honestly, what the heck is going on man?!
  11. This latest bid is actually still slightly less than what Liverpool paid for Ekitike, which was £69 million + £10 million in add ons. Just for a bit of context. The current bid for Sesko is at £69 million + £8 million.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Unless of course ... the manager has weighed things up and thought this guy is a bit of a moody twat and he's always moaning about his groin hurting. Let's get rid and put the money towards making the squad on the whole stronger and keep all the guys that are fully bought in.
  13. The first is going to be a cross from the right side from Elanga and a towering header that bursts the net ... if he signs of course
  14. It's almost as though some people's default setting is to always find something to whine and complain about!
  15. We're talking about who is better now, not who will be. I think we need someone to push Pope right now personally. I was never as confident as others Trafford would actually do that. Think he would have needed at least a year serving as backup.
  16. Trafford as things stand is a Championship goalie with a lot of potential. I'm very hesitant to crown him the better goalie considering how things went with Burnley in the Prem last time around. Ramsdale is significantly more accomplished in reality.
  17. I'm going to need some evidence Ramsdale is inferior to Trafford.
  18. We probably don't consider Sesko and look elsewhere if the Trafford deal goes through. There's always so many moving parts. The savings there probably allowed us to push the boat out for a player the club clearly believe has a whole lot of promise in Sesko.
  19. There will definitely be scope to keep both Isak and Sesko if Liverpool don't pay a fee the club deems worthwhile. The Ramsdale deal saved us a significant amount from what we had set aside for a goalie. And then I imagine we will have also have other affordable options at centre back and central midfield that we can go for if Isak isn't sold. Not beyond the realms of possibility at all.
  20. This is what I'm anticipating. Leipzig played a 4-2-2-2 last season with no wingers and I don't think that got the best out of him at all. He was also used as the support striker and so was often dropping deeper to link play and so not as present in the box as Openda the other striker was.
  21. Understandably so as you've spent close to that first bid on two separate players already, with no sales managed yet. Pretty certain this signing means Isak is off and so Liverpool will be footing the bill essentially.
  22. Mentioned this yesterday, but from the shenanigans with Arsenal the past couple of years Sesko and his agent are working closely with Leipzig to help them get the fee they want to, as they have a great relationship with the club. They are not willing to give any club leverage over Leipzig by declaring they will only join a certain club. If we're bidding it is because he is willing to join us and Man United as well, and so it comes down to who satisfies Leipzig's terms.
  23. Be nice to give them a taste of their own medicine for a change. Watch them start crying that we just threw a bunch of money at him and Leipzig and overpaid
  24. Yes, but reporting that won't get a bunch of engagement and clicks on social media!
