I have to say Allen is probably Liverpool's best player right now.

Presses really well and gets the ball quite a bit, and uses the ball really really well.

The more he does it the more likley it is he will never get a freekick again.

Gerrard has been exposed a bit this season in Rodgers short passing possession game.

His short passing is so average, and he loves that hollywood long ball too much.

I meant his potential as far as role/contribution to the team, as he is better on the ball and drives forward with the ball more.

Yeah because he's never been fit, nor has he ever been a certain fixture in the first team until now.

The guy has looked very very impressive so far this season. Does a lot of things Song can't on the ball.

Still looking for their keeper to adapt, Veronghen (sp?) to replace a top class King (would like to see the stats but guessing he played a significant amount of games), then Dembele and Dempsey replacing two of their better players. Adebayor isn't an upgrade from last season.

dembele and dempsey are two excellent signings, as good a way to replace modric as possible really

People keep forgetting they got Sigurdsson as well.

Dembele essentially replaced Modric.

Sigurdsson replaces Van der Vaart.

Dempsey is a bonus.

Dembele will play alongside Sandro, and Sigurdsson furthest forward in midfield.

That's ridiculous transfer planning to only have 1 target for a position.  At least when the Maiga deal fell through last December we got Cisse.

 

The Maiga deal fell through in the summer and we got no other striker actually, and had to wait till January.

 

Basically, it's what's happening again now.

It also fell through in the summer if you remember, and we didn't bother going back in for a striker... I think that's what he means.

We were haggling over the fee up until the last minute, having unsettled Maiga and pissed off Socheaux.

Only for Socheaux to tell us to do one, and we then were left with nothing.
