This is an unbelievable turn of events. It's almost as if all of the negative energy towards Kinnear on here actually brought this about! I mean seriously what were the odds of this happening at this point in time. Well it looks like we'll get the new manager many have been crying out for now. Should be interesting.

Are you serious? Have you forgotten what was going on just after Keegan left. Funnily enough I could have asked the same thing. Its still happening. Nothings changed, were still in limbo without knowing who will be manager, who will be in charge, whether were likely to be sold, whats going to happen. If youre on about protests then fans still arent buying merchandise, renewals of season tickets is looking like going down, the NUSC are planning whatever boycott or march theyre going on, and I can see more protests, chants and general disgust if Kinnear is with us throughout the summer and next season. Nothing has calmed down, its still a f***ing mess. The atmosphere is nowhere near as hostile right now and I think a lot more managers would be a lot more comfortable coming in at the start of the summer than they would have been back then. No doubt about it.

I think he will be gone too. I think the contract story was in place for the transfer window and also to stop any speculation of the situation in the papers. Gus Poyet will be a very big possibility in the summer. Poyet confirmed he was approached after Keegan left, but he decided agaist it due to the turmoil at the club. Wise absolutely loves the guy and they have proved to be a very succesful team already. With things having calmed down so much since Keegan left, and also having had expectactions brought so low with Kinnear, not to mention Poyet is now completely available, with a whole summer to prepare I wouldn't be surprised to see him put in place then.

Dennis Wise has been confirmed as the director of football now. This essentially means that the manager in place will have to be someone he is familiar/comfortable working with. Hence the approach for Gus Poyet, which he confirmed, after Keegan left the club. Dennis is also very familiar with JK also. If we bring someone else in this summer let's just hope he has some more impressive pals than JK who would be more willng to come in now things have calmed down at the club. Someone like Deschamps for example. So with your theory we're basically limited to Dennis's Facebook? What a bloody mess. It's a weird one. Who knows? Dennis does seem to have some impressive contacts in football from his Chelsea days in particular, perhaps there were other promising managers he would have been happy to work with who didn't want to come in due to the uproar at the club at the time. Gianfranco Zola was linked at the time also I remember, but not sure if it was just the papers though. In hindsight that would have been a good move it seems. Let's hope come the summer if need be we are thinking more along the lines of someone young and with promise e.g. DiMatteo rather than old and crusty like Venables.

I think in the summer we will make every effort to get rid of a good number of players who just aren't worth what they are costing the club, and this will allow for more money to be invested on top of the £8 million currently sitting there. Many thought that would happen last summer. And this January. We've given two of them new contracts. I would imagine both Butt and Shola are seen as squad players who are experienced and familiar with the club and area now, and more than anything are ssen as important dressing room players. I can't imagine they would have been giving substantial contracts and hopefully they will not be seen as key players next season. Best case scenario I know, but I'm hoping that this is the sort of idea anyway.

Very interesting stuff regarding still paying for players who had already joined the club before they arrived. Looks like this has clearly affected our spending on new players, as any budget would still be going towards these players we already "own" but don't really. Let's hope this new commitment will mean the complete demolition of this abomination of a team barring a few good ones obviously. I think we will only really be able to move on as far as recruiting new players, after a good number of the current lot are off the books.

Palacios is out injured, that's Geremi wearing Palacios' shirt. Isn't pretty to look at but he has won more tackles than the rest of the Tottenham team combined all of this season.

Eboue is mentally challenged. There is just something wrong with the guy upstairs. Always does this crap and is always smiling and laughing about it as if it is some sort of big joke. Don't understand why he is still at the club tbh. It's certainly not for his performances. His omission will definitely benefit Arsenal if anyhing. Terrible player and poor character.

Can we afford to wait till the summer though? Assuming Kinnear's health is as bad as being speculated. Leaving things as they are until the summer is scary to me. Wouldn't be surprised if we saw Poyet come in, and I think I would be okay with that at this point, particularly because he knows the prem so well, and I think we need that at this point of the season. He is quite highly rated and he is in tune with the powers that be which will bode well for player recruitment etc. He also will gel better with our South american/Spanish contingent and won't be overly bias towards the brits.

Everyone in the bottom four lost and we have added 3 points in the same weekend. Monumental result today.
