So this is official then. Well let's hope this is so they can discreetly start making moves for a new manager. They have said they are staying and pushing forward with their plan, well now you have a chance to bring in a new guy to start this new commitment with. Make it happen.

That's my optimistic assessment as well, otherwise Kinnear not signing the contract doesn't make sense. I am still nervous about the appointment they actually do make though. Hopefully we will be "pleasantly surprised". I would imagine that most decentish managers would want to be assured of prem status and would also want a full window to shape the squad to their liking. We live in hope.

I'm not saying I wanted JK as permanent manager at any point, but just out of interest what exactly are people judging his ineptness on? Is it just results? If so, is that really fair? Especially when you consider the environment he walked into and the injuries we have suffered from? All things considered he hasn't been as disastrous as some on here claim he has been, and the players in particular seem to be gving their all for him. He isn't perfect but wow do some people go overboard with their disgust for his period of management.

They cry out for communication thern they rubbish it all anyway. Fascinating.

England have been very poor. Looks like they don't even know what to do out there.
-
I hate centre halves who just clatter into the back of ofrwards and give the cheapest of freekickd away around the box. It's just such needless foolishness. Piss poor play by Upson.

Again, on a 4-5 month thing to keep us up, I wouldn't particularly mind any of those 3...as long as it was just until May. You would have O'Leary and Robson here and expect to stay up? Are you unwell? Crazy talk my friend. Please pull yourself together.
-
Holy! Don't even joke about O'Leary please.
-
Venables is one seriously greasy greasy sleaze but he definitely knows his football. Bryan Robson would just be such a phenomenally bad move it would be untrue.
-
Spain playing a diamond formation it seems, with the full backs pushed right up.
-
Bryan Robson is the most sour faced moaner of a manager ever. The guy is just terrible. As soon as there is a hint of trouble he will turn so negative and no doubt piss of all the players. Would be a pretty scary appointment. Not amusing

Yeah, cause they'll keep the ball on the ground with quick passes. No Gerrard hollywood balls tonight. England have dominated Spain for periods. And that's becuase the team Capello has put out has 11 players who to a man are good at what their position is meant to provide for that level. Central midfielders who pass well and intelligently, wingers with pace and the ability to dribble with the ball, strikers with either strength or movement/pace, mobile fullbacks, etc. None of this "oh lets play Gerraarrrrrrrrdddd and Lampard in central midfield because they score 15-20 goals a season", or "lets start Beckham every game because he can hit wonderful 600 yard diagonal crossfield and/or cross-stadium balls". Gerrard for England just goes so over the top with stuff and negatively affects the rest of the team because of it. Stupid long ball after the other.

Terry Venables and Bryan Robson have been considered as potential coaching troubleshooters to help to steer the club, who are thirteenth in the table, farther away from the bottom three. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premier_league/newcastle/article5711913.ece Time to soil your pants and pray for Kinnear's swift recovery and return. Bryan Robson is the worst manager in the entire world!

What is Spain's lineup exactly?
-
I agree. Really do rate Downing nowadays. Quality player, who hardly ever makes the wrong decision with the ball.

Crazy idea really.

Roberto DiMatteo?
-
Because he was a top class DM who will instantly recognise how crap Nicky Butt is.
-
Neither did Zola though. Apparently Poyet pretty much managed while he was Wises assistant at Leeds with Wise playing more of a senior/DOF role for the most part.
-
I'm thinking the setup is most ideal for Poyet who they initially wanted. There is a very experienced group of coaches in place already and it would be a bit messy getting rid of all of them at this point in the season and bringing a whole new group in as most managers would want to do. Poyet on the other hand would actually benefit from an experienced set of coaches, most of who he will likely know through Dennis anyway.
