There are talks with the player, as we’ve exclusively revealed on CF Bayern Insider. The agent from England was also already in Munich. You know, he has a German agent too, in Gordon Stipic-Wipfler. Now, the eyes are on Monday, at which point the supervisory board get together for a conference, where Max Eberl will discuss his plans for the summer. I heard they want to go all-in for an offensive player, and Anthony Gordon is at the top of the wishlist. But the transfer fee remains a problem. If we’re looking at £80m – that’s a lot of money for Bayern Munich. A few weeks ago, I would have said a deal of this magnitude isn’t possible. Now, I think the view of the supervisory board is shaped by the clear need for another forward player. PSG had Bradley Barcola on the bench. Bayern didn’t have the same level of quality depth available to call upon. Lennart Karl is still recovering from injury and is a young talent. Nicolas Jackson doesn’t have the quality Bayern are looking for (and they won’t buy him). So, they need one more player to bolster their attacking options, and this should be Anthony Gordon. Could Barcelona try and hijack Gordon transfer? It could be true that Barcelona would like to sign Anthony Gordon. The agents are making a lot of calls, a lot of meetings, around Europe. There was a meeting with Chelsea, contact with Liverpool, contact with Arsenal… they’re allowed to do that, as they know Newcastle need the money this summer to keep on the right side of Financial Fair Play. Barcelona were offered the player, but they can’t afford the kind of transfer fee we’ve been talking about. Bayern, on the other hand, could pay this if they wish to. So it’s getting interesting to see who’s joining the poker table. I’m personally more afraid of Chelsea, as they have the resources to make a deal happen. Not to mention, they could use Nicolas Jackson as a makeweight in a potential swap deal (and we know Newcastle are interested in the Senegal international). But, I think Bayern Munich still have a good chance to get this deal done, as they were very early on the market for Gordon. They can also rely on fellow England international Harry Kane to tell the 25-year-old just how good life in Munich is! https://cfbayerninsider.com/2026/05/the-bayern-insider-anthony-gordon-move-amid-major-transfer-updates-on-barcola-havertz-neuer/

Find this a bit frustrating tbh. Is there any word that he'll be more involved again going forward?

It's messed up that he's not signing a new deal because I can see lesser offers due to all these injuries, and with his contract winding down, they may need to be considered.

Those performances upfront in the Champions League have intrigued a lot of clubs it looks like. When you see what PSG are able to get out of Dembele, despite his limitations, as a versatile forward that leads their press very effectively, I imagine they may consider Gordon as a rotation option for him, especially as Goncalo Ramos, who is being linked with Newcastle again, has asked to leave this summer.
-
Barcelona sporting director Deco has already spoken to Gordon’s representatives, and while there are reservations about signing him due to the expectation that Newcastle will demand a high fee for the 25-year-old, he may not be as expensive as anticipated. According to Sky Sports (via MD), €90m is what the English club are seeking, although the feeling is that a deal can be done for €75m-85m, add-ons included. Barcelona are keen to sign someone in a similar mould to Raphinha, albeit at a younger age. Gordon is three years the junior of the Brazil international, and his playstyle is comparable, in that he works hard off the ball and can be destructive with it, as has been shown in this season’s Champions League. The fact that Gordon can also operate as a number nine is beneficial for Barcelona, who may find it difficult to spend big on a natural striker due to their well-documented financial woes. However, they would face strong competition from Bayern Munich, who are keen to agree terms with Newcastle as soon as possible, given that the upcoming World Cup will make it difficult for teams to do business for about a month.

Florian Plettenberg reports that club-to-club talks have occurred between FC Bayern and Newcastle regarding Anthony Gordon. Newcastle’s initial demands were up to €90m. Realistically, the fee is expected to be approximately €75-85m including bonuses. Bayern will not pay that, and for this reason, discussions with other candidates are also ongoing.

This summer is going to be interesting that's for sure. The striker market is not one that is booming to say the least. Howe's system needs one that is very high energy and that leads the press as a starting point too. Good luck to them.

To be fair we were apparently very keen on him when he was at Benfica and were set to move for him before Liverpool then showed interest and sealed the deal. He did okay there, but always thought he'd probably have been better off with wingers that looked to get balls to him earlier and also put more crosses into the box sooner. Liverpool still had wingers that got more of the goals that were used to Firmino creating for them. I don't think his salary demands will be crazy. He's pretty much earned 3-4 times what he was on at Liverpool while he was at Saudi in the last year, and so will likely be prioritising the move that he thinks works best for him and gets him back playing regularly.

Looks like Darwin Nunez is going to reach an agreement to be released on a free from Al-Hilal. Chronicle has mentioned Newcastle's long standing interest and possibly going for him this summer.
-
He's going to be 29 and is coming off an injury filled season where he hasn't played well. Wer're already stuck with Wissa that is coming off a similar sort of season. There's no chance Solanke is signed man. If he is then might as well fold the club
-
They're never signing Solanke man

Interesting bit from the Athletic article a couple of days ago, regarding a striker. Whether Nick Woltemade and/or Yoane Wissa remain on Tyneside is still to be determined — as things stand, sources have told The Athletic that Will Osula is actually the most likely of the three strikers to stay beyond the summer — yet, regardless of the fate of that pair who cost a combined £119million ($161.4m) in August, Howe wants to sign another centre-forward who can press and is a penalty-box finisher. The striker market is hardly booming right now, however, and Newcastle are likely to sign a player with promise, rather than a proven marksman. If all three strikers stay and another is still looking to be added, then I think we're going to see some players used in other positions, and another setup introduced that the team can play in more often. Wissa will probably play more on the left, especially if Gordon leaves, and Woltemade used as more of a support striker with a partner ahead of him, when he's in the team.

Jan Ziółkowski is likely to leave AS Roma in the summer transfer window. According to Italian media reports, AS Roma expects around 20 million euros for Jan Ziółkowski, while Checco Oddo Casano reported that the club would like to receive 20-25 million euros for selling him. In an interview with Goal.pl, Federico Liuti from Forzaroma.info commented that 20 million euros is a reasonable price for Ziółkowski, especially in the Premier League, where Newcastle United is interested in him. Liuti added that if a satisfactory offer appears, Ziółkowski will leave AS Roma in the summer. He also stated that Roma must sell someone to raise funds before June 30, and with a good offer, Ziółkowski will be one of the players to depart.
-
Yeah, but talking about what they're going to be doing next season isn't really necessary either. Besides ... we're not fooling anyone by playing coy over Wissa. Everyone knows it's been a disaster

Felt bad for Kane. When he was in there the dufus wingers were constantly cutting in looking to shoot.

Look how fired up the PSG sideline were with every win their players have on the pitch. Great energy this team has now. Wonder what Mbappe is doing at the minute. Back to back finals as soon as he left town. Joker.
