World Cup Decision Ends Isak’s Liverpool Campaign 15May In a major development, reports claim Alexander Isak will not feature again for Liverpool this season. According to Graham at The Telegraph, the decision is not injury-related, but instead part of an agreement between Liverpool and Sweden to keep the striker fully fit ahead of the upcoming World Cup.

Yeah, maybe. Ideally though he would have been at Newcastle going through a full pre-season to get him ready to play in an Eddie Howe side upfront.

Makes no sense to keep playing him and risk him getting injured when he's going to be moving on and there's so much interest in him, and the club needs to bring in that money.

I think Wissa could definitely bounce back, but the fact he's away at the World Cup this summer is a nuisance, and makes that less likely I think. And so would just move on tbh.

They'll be in the Champo again next season and he is going into the final year of his contract this summer.

I genuinely think they're all staying as I don't see anyone coming in for Wissa or Woltemade for any kind of fee that makes sense. Probably would have looked at a younger striker if Osula had left, but he's stepped up recently and is more likely to stay and be given much more opportunities to play next season challenging Wissa. Ideally, I think they should be cutting their losses with Wissa and going and getting another number 1 guy, but I'm not sure they will.

Would be a smart low fee backup in that position. Exactly the sort of player that should be coming in to build up the squad. Hopefully there's some truth in the rumour.
